i dont really trust those bike carriers for sedans so i decided to build one
the idea is to insert those flat bars w/ welded-on nuts into the "chassis" to serve as attachment points

Make sure to round-out any sharp edges of your contraption that can potentially damage the anti-rust coating of your car. Also give that contraption an anti-rust coating.

anyway... slow progress... but luckily a friend has already built something like this so its now just a matter of adapting it to my car...
the plan is to weld up two box sections that the rack is going to interface into:
here's a crappy weld from the Cigweld 135 using a no-name fluxcore wire. welded in sections to minimize warping
