if you are bending the same shape, you can put your “model” bent metal bar as a guide, then bend it.

It could be painted where the parts are not exposed to the bending but for now I leave it as it is. When there's chance maybe I grind the welds and re weld it again but not until I get the ADH.

i visited Comppact Steel this morning and bought 13.3mm x 5 inch long (Php15/pc) round tool steel as dowels for my metal bender which are bigger to what i need - 12. 6mm.

after heating both ends with welding machine and soaked to oil overnight 😀

test fit:

no need to put set screw as lock in the rotating arm since i tested the speaker on the bracket in full volume with no movement (no vibration) (full volume with the cord unplugged) 😀 hahaha joke

I need to hang mount my 110V Electrical Cord Reel in the wall.

Will need to fabricate a bracket for it. I chose to use a flat bar that will be welded to a metal plate that will be bolted to the wall.

Bending time. 2" wide by 1/4" thick flat bar. Pure Muscle Bending ( no help from a heat source to make the metal softer ). Just an extender added to the bender's handle.

However if I wanted a sharper bend angle then application of heat on the bend line will accomplish it.

Going to upgrade the crappy hook to a bearing assisted setup. It will help make the reel follow the desired direction when the cord is pulled.

Bender ok lang kapal and lapad .... sisiw. Kinakabahan lang ako sa vise baka bumigay.

I think the bearing approach is a bit an over kill for just a cord reel swivel.

Decided to change the design and fab a bushing type approach. Will weld all this tomorrow.

the extra friction will be an advantage here too as the swivel will not rotate as freely like if it were riding a bearing.

I wish I had a hole saw the size of the bushing to bore the flat bar bracket ... since I have none I'll use oxy ace.

i havent tried it yet but i think its ok, as long as the metal you are going to cut are fully grip and by slow cutting the metal.

you can add 2 more clamp for added safety 🙂

I was just wondering if that cut would be ok. Yeah probably smooth feeding will do the trick.

Actually I can just bend the excess edges and weld these to the plate instead of cutting it out.
