I made a cut on the bend line using a cut off wheel. Half the thickness of the flat bar. Then I bent it with the bender.

Yeah that weld will fill the right angle bend. It's easier to weld if the metals are not totally separated thus the use of the bender.

For now since I'll be welding it to a plate I'll use the gap as the bevel.

I'll need to go buy 1/4" thick plate. The one on the pic is 1/2" and is really too thick. That's the one from the aborted bender base.

I need to hang mount my 110V Electrical Cord Reel in the wall.

Will need to fabricate a bracket for it. I chose to use a flat bar that will be welded to a metal plate that will be bolted to the wall.

Bending time. 2" wide by 1/4" thick flat bar. Pure Muscle Bending ( no help from a heat source to make the metal softer ). Just an extender added to the bender's handle.

However if I wanted a sharper bend angle then application of heat on the bend line will accomplish it.

Going to upgrade the crappy hook to a bearing assisted setup. It will help make the reel follow the desired direction when the cord is pulled.

i did used this dowel to bend 12.7mm round bar and the dowels(tool steel) were all also bent slightly 🙁

after heating both ends with welding machine and soaked to oil overnight 😀

Looks like the used Rack End suspension parts from cars are stronger. I never had problems with these dowels bending whatsoever.

The bender has really been helpful making the custom brackets I need that I decided to give it a coat of paint. Hopefully will help contain rusting better instead of spraying the tool with WD-40 once in a while.

i have no plan to paint this bender since it was reheated and bathed with oil.
the green primer was just a left over from my spray painting this afternoon.
i didnt even clean the bender before i painted it 😮 its already 7pm that time, so lusot na siguro kahit paano hehehe
