hi jay, not so sure, but i think you can't use a blade thats been used on aluminum for steel or was it the other way around, btw i use the irwin 14 inch blade on a dewalt chop saw, i just bring the speed down using a variable transformer, i use it to cut 5 in aluminum tubing, w/c is beyond the capacity of the lc1230's 12in blade....

I need to do this cutting .....

This way is getting the job done but is a bit time consuming and tedious

What would be a better tool to use ?

1. Oxy Ace - too hot for my liking
2. Bandsaw?
3. Plasma Cutter?
4. CS w/ Diablo Steel Demon Blade ?
5. Others

Probably the CS would have been good but I should have sliced before chopping the full length angle bar.

What size of angle bar do you require that you have to slice up your angle bar ??

Doing Oxy-ace cutting will produce rough edges and sparks too. You know how it is when using this method for cutting bro.

Doing Plasma cutting is faster with cleaner edges but lots of sparks too. If only we have one, maybe its time to save up and purchase a plasma cutter.

Doing it with an angle grinder with 5" or 7" thin cutting disc for me will be the choice since I don't have both of the above yet. I know it will produce sparks and metal dust too but I have better control of the grinder, just clamp a spare straight edge as guide for initial cuts and you will have a clean and straight cuts instead of using a die grinder.

With a Bandsaw, another good choice, no sparks, only some metal shavings but a little bit slow during cutting.

With a CS, does it have a very thin cutting blades available, you might not be able to control it too, I just don't know with the smaller size CS and blade.

Will just use these for support bro ... workshop shelves so aesthetics not much of an issue. Yes maybe an angle grinder would be faster.

looks fast and ok so I'm switching to a more powerful grinder

I chose the Flex rat tail .... lightweight and with a dead man's trigger for added safety ... more than enough power for me to make a single run cut instead of multiple passes if I wanted to

LOL ... all the longer pieces sliced now ... cheaper than using a Steel Demon blade which I will reserve for more important cuts where precision is required.

Eto na yung unang project ng chop saw stand .. at least hindi na ko masyadong nahirapan sa sukat sukat and putol. Semi automatic na.

At times I'm still amazed how fast and easy it is to paint a Wip like the one below using 3M PPS.

It's all in the ability to shoot the spray gun in all positions instead of repositioning the Wip itself. . I have a 600 ml cup but wished I have the smaller one too.

Installing larger stuff alone is harder but doable.

A good tool to drill concrete ... piece of cake and without effort on 12mm holes. You want exactly placed holes then drill a pilot hole on the concrete so the bigger bit won't walk .

One expansion bolt for anchor and everything follows ... but the shelf is still heavy to lift alone.

I plan to raise the dust collector above ... hope gravity won't fight the suction power that much.

One can't have too many clamps but first must have more clamp hangers
