I always pre load my files with chalk when doing metals ... cutting on the push stroke only. A file brush comes in handy too. A sharp unloaded file cuts faster and cleaner.

In under 60 seconds I can find a free spot in the garage, move the chop saws, plug it in and be ready to cut metal.

The most useful locking pliers in the arsenal ... the Hanson 7ccs. Get at least 2 in the favorite industrial store and you're set to clamp ... metal or wood.

No car is allowed to park inside the garage from 1 pm to 7 pm when I'm doing a major welding WIP. LOL

I added another grinder to the team .... for corner weld grinds.

Bro Joey81 ... I'm on the stop block fab now ... been thinking about your suggestion for a millimeter adjust ... do you have a good design in your library?

The stop block is easy to move since I kept it a bit on the loose side so it can slide on the extensions with ease.

Just 2 spacers for the receiver tubes instead of 4.

I must be able to cut metal even when the extensions are in the stored position ....

when there's lots of cutting on the abrasive chop saw then one extension storage holder must be able to go to allow better access to the saw

hopefully tomorrow I'll finalize this extension storage

Extension holders installation ....

need to make a hole bigger ... I can file all day or use a carbide burr and be done in 2 minutes ...

easier to work on the table top ....

ratcheting tap wrenches are great for close quarters hole tapping

some of the tapped holes have no immediate use ...

more provisions for future upgrades if needed .... tapped 8mm holes

I now need power distribution for the stand ... will probably mod this power strip to 15A capacity and use it.

I was not able to finish the fabrication today ... I had to suddenly leave the shop to heed a bewitching call .... LOL

I managed to install the bottom receivers when I got back ...

eto kulam .... hardwares to be used for the painting of this wip ....

Run into a fabrication oversight here. I should have installed this flat bar then drilled before welding the receiver tubes. Even with a right angle drill and a regular length bit the clearance is way off.

I looked around for an old bit and cut it into length then sharpened it on the bench grinder. I however did the final sharpening using a drill doctor.

with the holes bored I then used a right angle die grinder loaded with a tree shaped carbide burr to make the hole bigger

there you are my bolts now will fit

This flat bar is the provision to later mount a power socket. It needs to be installed away from cutting sparks, dust and chips thus I chose to put it under the table top. Likewise the sockets should be easy to replace or repair if needed. I will need to cut the bolts I have ... too long.

US Wire 14 gauge power cord with a rating of 15A @ 1,875 watts will be used so it would be easier to roll up

The fabrication and welding is hopefully done now. From here on it will all be bolt ons. As planned the bottom extensions and upper catch pan would be done another time. I need to start finishing as the wip is already beginning to rust.

I need to find a suitable lamp .... it would make it easier to see cut lines as well as add ease in aligning the blade to the fence.

Bronco .... i do prefer using a nylon brush which I then clean with water and soap after use.
