For the project I'll be using a 6013 special nihonweld thin rod for tacking and stringer application and a 6013 thicker rod by wipweld for the hot or cap pass.

Tacked weld the two angle bars with stringer application on the base plate.

Another stringer over the tack welds above and below the completed cap pass.

On this pic I made first a smaller version but decided to make another one much bigger than the first so that the support can carry a longer pipe.

This is how this two welding support will be utilized,it has made welding pipes more easier to weld and manipulate.

how do you "de-rust" the metals?

any chemicals worth using? i am not a fan of derusting metals using the grinder.

HI there violaine,

The only de-rusting process I did in this little project was to use a grinder and wire brushing, specially just to remove the flaking rust on the metal plates. Though the metals were not yet totally de-rusted, I did not soaked them anymore overnight into a pan of vinegar kasi nga diba quicky quicky metal project nga e plus before painting I'll brush it first with Turco metal converter. I know de-rusting metal is really irritating and after doing so you would smell already like kalawang, and with so many rust dust in the air, not so good for the lungs.

Anyway the use of vinegar was suggested by jarod to Jayl on de-rusting his shop tools and I think it did quite became very effective and successful.

bakit pa sulpot sulpot ka na lang, how's life on the other side of the world ? Si sir timbs weldero na rin at babanat na sa mga square tubings, he he he he , tingnan ko lang kung hindi nagka butas butas ang mga square tubings nya.

Ok here are the painted and finished DIY project. Simply just brush painted with metal epoxy primer then finished with Bosny spray paints. :p

never in my life have i handled a welding machine,

nor have any knowledge of this machine, maybe the fear of being" electrocuted "

he he he he, Yes jon the project is again a very very simple one, no complicated design or whatsoever and yet very effective and functional to welders doing or welding pipes or square tubings.
