Re: DIY Speaker Wall Bracket

I was looking at the weld beads made by the Creston AC Welder on your ads. Those beads looks finer and more consistent than those made by the Riland DC Welder. Am I missing something here or it's just that you have mastered the learning curve of the AC Creston already and the Riland is still in progress.

Millermatic 180 Autoset Mig Welder
Miller Spoolmate 100 Spool Gun
Victor Firepower 350 Oxy Ace Outfit
3M Speedglas 9002X AD Helmet
Makita LC1230 Dry Cut Saw
Ingersoll Rand Air Tools
Snap On Tools
Metabo Power Tools
Norseman Drill Cutting Tools
Bosch Power Tools
3M PPS

Re: DIY Speaker Wall Bracket

test fit:

no need to put set screw as lock in the rotating arm since i tested the speaker on the bracket in full volume with no movement (no vibration) (full volume with the cord unplugged) 😀 hahaha joke

spray painting to follow 🙂

Re: DIY Speaker Wall Bracket

sometimes the vibration can cause unwanted noise for this speaker installation coming from the rattling and vibration of the shelf arm assembly.

i remember before i hung my speakers using a 2mm diameter nylon twine on four corners attached to the ceiling...as if the speakers were floating on air..during that time too, there was a fad to "float" floor standing speakers using pointed pin feet (i forgot how their name).

but was scared the nylons might break loose i discarded the idea almost immediately.

i think the heavy metal swinging bracket is an overkill for these minicomponent type speakers installation.

well..in DIY, there is no such thing as an overkill..but just making everything is sure.
😉

PS

just paint them flat black boy.

Re: DIY Speaker Wall Bracket

FWIW, i think black enamel would look good on it too . (I used boysen to replace the japanning in my #4 plane before.) It has a bit of gloss, and black just doesn't draw too much attention to itself. Subdued and tends to blend into the background nicely.

So what's your next project? =).
