Can anyone provide a feedback on which welding machine brand is better?

Hitronics
Lincoln
Cigweld
Yamato

Which is better traditional or inverter?

Re: Feedback Welding machine Brand

There are advantages and disadvantages of the traditional welding machines and I suppose these are the AC arc machines likewise perhaps with the inverters or DC machines. Choice of welding machines depends on the individual who will be buying or using it.

AC arc welding machines were the in thing then but times have changed and we now have in the market DC Inverters , a great improvement of the former machines in lots of ways.

Lincoln brand is US made, Cigweld is Australian and the two remaining, Hitronic and Yamato are China made. All are capable of delivering what they are supposed to do depending on the needed requirements for the job, depending on the choice of amperage and the required duty cycle.

If one wants a long lasting and sturdy machine capable of long hours of welding or perhaps for production use, then get the heavy duty type of machine but if one needs only a machine for occasional welding use, I suppose better get the non heavy duty or just the entry level type of weld machine, its cheaper, easy on the pocket and very portable.

Re: Feedback Welding machine Brand

hi rosy,

I am curious about the Asea...the price of the equivalent yamato DC is almost double and its made in Korea.

any thoughts on this brand?

I am also concern with the amperage...which is better? the 180 or a 200?

should we get a step higher in terms of capacity/horsepower (for example in buying an air conditioning unit) for a welder?

yes, I will be an occasional user....I have a Daihatsu 250amps heavy welder, rarely used kaya pinapahiram ko lang sa mga relative ko...although me casters, heavy pa din...and needs some degree of electrical supply kasi pag ino on ko....at mag weld na...hinihigop niya power ng buong bahay!

I think that is one advantage ng DC welders...portability at 22Volts (?) lang requirement at pluggable sa ordinary outlet...

yung yamato kasi...there were "lemons" and it will be a hassle to return it sa supplier.

anyhow...I don't see any welder purchase this soon...these are my thoughts and I believe this is the right thread.

have a nice day!

Re: Feedback Welding machine Brand

Hi there V,

Curious about ASEA brand, well its not a bad welder and its comparable to RILAND or HiTronic
which are in the heavy duty type of machine, only its a bit more expensive. If you intend to buy
a DC welder in the future, you may select the 200 amp or perhaps a 250 amp or 300 amp if you
will have enough budget for a higher amperage welder.

Most of our members here have experienced the Yamato brand and its quality for the past 2 years, some were not happy due to the fact that they got the "lemon" quality, well can't blame them but others were satisfied and very happy with it specially those who are just starting to learn how to weld. Yes its a 200 amp welder but it has its limitations and got to follow strictly the duty cycle requirement.

From my Yamato 200 amp DC machine, I jumped and purchased a 300 amp DC HiTronic machine
also made by Riland, enjoyed using it these past several months and very satisfied with its heavy duty quality.
I decided on the 300 amps HiTronic to match my other 300 amp Yamato AC welder, just FYI.

CHEERS bro, stay safe and healthy !! 😉 🙂

Re: Feedback Welding machine Brand

Mag Mig Welder ka na Doc V. Yan si Bugel kakambal niyan welding machine so kahit ano bigay mo na welder sa kanya for sure ok results.

Kung ikaw mag weld mismo you need a very user friendly machine unless you give up the microscope for a welder 🙂

They're the ones carrying ASEA welders. Their address is G/F 2387 BMC Bldg. Sergio Osmena Highway, Sta. Ana. Manila. Korweld products are classified as industrial grade use.
