Well this angle bar joint has proven more sound and sturdier for me compared to just cutting each end at 45 degrees. :thumbup:
You got 3 joints to weld instead of just 2 and in my case I simply use my 5" angle grinder fitted with a thin cutting disk.
A worthy tip for other "bakal boys" in the forum. :whistle:

I should try this instead of the usual 45 degree cut.
Been wanting to do that when welding angle bars mainly because it looks better... but due to time constraint I always ended up with a 45 or butt join. The 2nd picture I think is very dangerous to do using a chop saw because without the hold of the chop saw vise a kick back may occur ( I've experienced that), I'd prefer cutting it using a grinder or much better a plasma cutter.
