December cool weather is just around the corner. A good time now to start some welding wips in the garage.
Long square tubes need to be cut down to manageable sizes ... I'm trying to minimize metal dust as much as I
could so I avoid using the abrasive chop saw whenever I can. The Dry Cut saw blade is too expensive for rough
cuts thus in the absence of a portable band saw I choose the reciprocating saw for these kind of task.
Very quick ....
Long time I did not do metal works ... the table top has rusted already

Table top is easier to clean using a bigger cup wire brush. 4" in this case.
The first thing I do whenever I start a metal wip is to clean up the metals to be used ... easier to do this way than when the wip is completed.
These square tubes got submerged in water during the last flooding thus got rusted. Even after rust conversion and wire brushing the rusting is still evident.

My favorite square when working on the chop saw
Walang practice mabagal na ako ...
I think this dry cut saw needs a mod .. the square tube cutting jig will be more efficient if it is able to bolt in the clamp face.

Scandalous parehas itong mga chop saws ... too noisy, too much dust or chips etc ....
Slowly I will move to band saws ... step by step. For starters I purchased a portable one with 5" cutting depth.
