Eto madugo ... medyo tedious. After the Bronco I need to remove the white flakes etc... to make the surface smooth.

3M Aluminum Oxide Sand Paper

Metabo and Makita paddle switch grinders loaded with wire cup & wheel brushes

After wire brushing I wipe the metal with mumurs lacquer thinner

Primer Painting time. Zinc Chromate Galva Coat two stage primer.

I have this Devilbiss spray gun air adjustment gauge

However I find my guns to perform better when the pressure is adjusted at the source. I use Finex HVLP, gun trigger fully depressed and the pressure adjusted at 29 psi. It's around 40 psi at no load.

Primer done. Tomorrow Acrylic base and clear coats. I love to use this paint because it dries up very quickly.

Even this Galva Coat dries very fast. I mix 3 parts primer to 1 part catalyst then thin it 1:1 with acrylic thinner and spray it.

I just buy the cheap Acrylic in paint stores here in Pasay. P220 per can ... they mix colors too if needed. The thinner is P320. I forgot how much I paid for the single stage clear coat.

If the wip needs a bit more aesthetics I usually sand down the base coat a bit with 1500 or up grit before applying clear coat. I then use two stage clear

plus a better thinner

This spray gun filter has been very effective ... ask Timb about it. A must have in my opinion. Had saved me once from a spray gun malfunction in the middle of a spray job.

I did cut these plywood for my shelf flooring ... will try Doc V's approach to finish it. This putty is really easy to apply and smells good. I purchased it quite sometime ago for 374 pesos in an Ace Hardware sale. Trying it out for the first time.

The wall shelf waiting for lag bolts so it can be installed here in the wood shop ...

I don't have much floor space left so I'm maximizing the walls.

Next I need to build an eight feet file folders wall shelf .... using 3/4" plywood. I need to rip plywood and I don't have a track saw :thumbdown:

None the less I have these for now ...

It's just a bit more tedious to setup ... still a track saw ( w a full length track ) is very desirable.

Mas marami nga lang seremonyas pag straight edge pero it does the job.

The lower speed Metabo CS does not spew much dust. I suspect that if I connect a vacuum hose to it then minimal dust would be scattered. The light weight cordless saw is a joy to use. I did wax the base prior to use so it glides smoothly.

I used Rockler fence clamps to hold the aluminum straight edge steady.

I got all what I need for my shelf wip now. From here all is manageable using the table saw.

My welding table gets a new connection to the welders...

These ground clamps can be connected to the mig or stick welder depending on which one is best to use ...
( i.e for sheet metal works a magnetic clamp is better)

I finished the simple file folder shelves for our home office. 3/4" plywood , edge banded

and finished with automotive acrylic putty and paint

It was supposed to be a single 8 feet shelf but made the mistake to dadoe for the middle support deeper than necessary. While dry fitting the long board broke in 2 peieces thus I ended up with 2 shelves instead of a long one. Welll live and learn amateur ... LOL

DIY - you're the master .... you can do anything you want with the wip.
