Re: Metal-working section is now open...

We've requested Admin Jarod to review some of the older threads about metal working to see if these could be transferred. It will avoid thread duplication and hopefully revive old discussions so we can learn more from these or address the concerns there and give it proper attention.

Re: Metal-working section is now open...

PM sent regarding metal working tools. Nothing urgent for now. Just wanted to tip the metal members that there's no need for duplicate threads if possible in order to avoid clutter till the section gets more organized.

Thanks Bro.

Re: Metal-working section is now open...

Yes, I'm actually the one in my avatar. I'm doing a 6G pipe. Practicing for my upcoming assessment.

I'm into sales and marketing field, But since i undergo formal training in welding and got my certification, I started to love and made it part of my profession. I'm now hold NCII and AQ1/TQ1 certification registered in Tesda, which means i can assess and train people formally in any Tech/Voc. Institution in the Philippines.

Nice welcoming words to you guys, I'll be posting more of anything that can contribute in enhancing skills.

Regards

Re: Metal-working section is now open...

Hello again there kabasor, Its nice to know that your knowledge on welding came from actual training or schooling and you are now probably holding two certificates, one for NC1 and another for NC2 AND I would like to congratulate you for that and hope that you pass in flying colors on your trade test.

In my case bro I learned how to do welding 10 years ago or so by seriously looking or watching welders that I used to hire and got so curious about this tool and its possibilities and its applications since I am an artist by profession, said to my self I should learn how to use this tool and how to weld, I can use this for sculpture making specially Mig welding.

Late last year I was supposed to enroll at TESDA, here in Rizal area and its runned by the local municipal office but to my disappointment was not able to enroll because they were only accepting interested students or applicants coming from their own town only 😡 grrrrrrr, so yuong isa kong tauhan and pinaaral ko and paid for his application and tuition and he enjoyed it learning new skill and passed the trade test with flying colors. He ended up mas marunong pa sa akin. So after his training he would come over my place on Sundays and we would practice welding and would teach me what he has learned. Currently he is now on his third week of training again sa TESDA, Tanay branch for NC2.

Got a good news from him that in the coming months the TESDA Tanay branch will be opening up to every one interested in learning the skill only with a steep tuition fee of 8,000.00 pesos 😮 for the basic SMAW training. Well I guess I have to shell out that much to be properly trained in this skill, haaaayyyyyy ang mahal naman.

Well no pain no glory, no money no honey, he he he he crossing my fingers that I may be able to enroll sa TESDA this coming months. :p

Re: Metal-working section is now open...

Hmmm since we're gearing up and welding already then we might as well get some kind of formal training. I'll check out Tesda too when I get good chance. Hope you guys post more about this subject whenever you have info.

Great to now have a Pro in our small but growing metal working community. 🙂
