Hi brad onie,
Making your planned wall mounted or foldable bed will not really be that hard if you really want it made. It just need planning and keeping always an open mind and imagination. With the first link bro JayL posted, you'd get lots of style and ideas there.
Anyway to start your 60" X 75" bed, you have to start with the main frame for that. You may use 2" x 3" tubulars or 3" X 3" x 1/4" angle bars. But since you said you are very new in welding, for you I'd suggest you using the angle bars so that you can easily weld their corner joints without experiencing "burn throughs", or in other words, hindi ka mabubutasan ng bakal kasi thick yung metal compared sa tubular which is only 1.5 mm or 2.0 mm thick maximum. After making the main frame, you can add and weld some flat bars inside the angle bars, say 2" X 3/16" thick at 12" apart( 1 foot ). These flat bars will support the 1/2" thick plywood, ilalatag mo sa loob ng angle iron frame na pag lalagyan mo naman ng 6" or 8" thick Uratex foam.
You will also need some heavy duty metal hinges to be welded at one end of the main frame which in turn will be welded sa isang horizontal angle iron/angle bar, yung horizontal angle bar na 3" X 3" X 1/4" thick ay welded naman sa same specs of 2 angle bars in vertical position which in turn be bolted sa concrete wall. Duon sa paanan ng bed frame, weld some foldable bed legs or support at the height you would prefer. 😀 You can finish your metal bed frame project by grinding unwanted welds, then apply with metal epoxy and then apply a top coat finish with gloss acrylic lacquer.
CHECK OUT THIS LINK brad onie, :2thumbsup: this might greatly help !!!
