Hi Bro's,

I just like to ask where can i have this welded. It is my wife instrument in the clinic and it got broken.

If you or know someone who can do please let me know 🙂 I'm from QC G. Araneta. Willing to go to your place but not too far 🙂

Thank you in advance

Is your wife a dentist? I think that's an Amalgam Burnisher used by dentists to carve or form Amalgam filling. If my hunch is correct then I suggest you get a suitable replacement instead of welding it as it might turn out almost the same in terms of cost. You will also have issues sterilizing the unit once welded.

Re: Need help where to have this welded

That's only 400-700 pesos b/new, IIRC. Your best bet is to replace the unit,
like wf says. Failing that, you can do as Jay suggests:

JB Weld is food-grade epoxy, and can easily take the heat of a sterilizer, but
you have to ensure there are no micropits or voids in the bond, so that you
don't provide any harbor for contaminants (this is much easier to accomplish
with epoxy than with weld beads).

Re: Need help where to have this welded

Thanks for feedback. yes it is dental instrument. apparently cost more or less 3k for brand new. we bought a new one already but this one is hard to let go. STill hoping to have it welded.

Anyone contact person to recommend? 🙂 thanks in advance

The new one we bought looks stronger is it molded end to end. Below is for reference.

Re: Need help where to have this welded

When you say broken, is there a cut such that piece of material is
still inside the handle or other piece was detached from the handle?

It seems this is a pressure-fit type of connection.

Re: Need help where to have this welded

Get it silvered soldered or brazed welded
