Here are pics showing welding and moving to the middle as I finish one portion then setting up again some angle metal and clamping to hold the triangular metal support.

Moving to the left little by little, setting up each metal piece and applying tack welds. Hope this is not getting to be boring.

OK done with the tack welds on the longer angle bar, ready to be welded permanently. 🙂

These images of the shorter angle bars were taken earlier, a day before and was not able to record its welding process though its just the same as the previous pics. These angle bars are ready for permanent welding too.

The mask that I will be using when doing continuos welds for the meantime, while waiting for the HOBART with a larger flip window.

Yup ! I guess its my turn now bro, just have to plan well each parts to be welded to come up with a really sturdy heavy duty welding table. I have a feeling this will not be a piece of cake but still very optimistic of its out come.

To me it looks like the build flow will be smooth ... I have seen your plans. Looks Great. If I may just remind to keep distortion and warping on check.

An update of the angle bars welded with the pieces of triangular metal support.

I resumed work this afternoon right after lunch and tried using also the new HOBART welding helmet with the large front flip window, and as expected, I can view the metals to be welded without much adjustment of the helmet, the objects and the surroundings where clearly visible compared to the other helmet with only 2" x 4" window opening.

The last two images showing the welds still with the slags and then the other one when slags have been chipped off exposing the final weld beads.

A very effective welding helmet indeed, just doesn't feel confining or claustrophobic while wearing this helmet.

Share lang this image, its a can where in I drop my spent welding rods since I started the PIPs on thin sheet metal and probably this will be filled up when I'm done with this welding table project.

Took the liberty of comparing my old Lotus, welding helmet with this new HOBART welding helmet and there it is, very obvious, evident on a first glance, a large front flip window compared to the 2" X 4" front flip window. 😮

Think I'm gonna like using this helmet while the others will be taking the back seat for a while.
I'll highly recommend this HOBART kind of helmet for guys who will be interested in stick welding in the future. :chopper:

Some more welds on different sides of the metal support.

The usefulness of these added support will be manifested if and when the table top plate is welded. It will help contain distortion and warping.

Yes bro masarap mag weld ng metal lalo na kung thick yung metal, walang problema sa warping and burn throughs.

I decided to full weld both sides of the metal stiffener para walang movement of whatsoever when the 1/2" plate panels get installed.

Bro, sayang wala ka nuong Grand EB natin sa Makati, napa extend yun Christmas season sa BOSCH Phils. , umaapaw yung giveaways for all the attendees.

To continue working on the two short angle bars, after chipping off the slags on all the welds, I started cleaning the whole angle bars by wire brushing and sanding again the welds and removing the remaining slags embedded in the metal and also the spatters that stuck to the metal surface then started to apply few coats of aerosol metal primer gray on the welds first and then the entire body of the angle bars.

The purpose of this move in applying metal primer on the angle bars at an early stage is to prevent rust build up again while I work and resume welding on the other angle irons. Since its been raining continuosly for the past few days the air here has become kinda damp.

I used this aerosol metal primer gray to immediately address possible rust build up on the angle bars since these angle bars will be set aside for the mean time while I continue welding the other two angle bars.
