Re: Rosy's Heavy Duty Welding and Cutting Table Build

brad nag materialized na ang patience at continous practice mo...

ang ganda na ng welding bead mo,

pro level na yan! :diver:

Yes bro jon, the continous practice really paid off, one just have to put ones heart and time to really learn proper weld applications plus I do a lot of reading and research on the net and would still continue to practice what I have absorbed to be able to produce professional looking welds.

Tyagaan lang at sacrificio kahit tagaktak ang pawis sa init, LOL. 😀

time to step up and get a spray gun outfit....:dracula:

You are right TIMB, I have to get a good spray gun outfit, though I have one already, only its a SRAYIT brand which I purchased long time ago together with a Badger compressor for air brushing.

Maybe in time when I have enough budget, I'll get a SATA or an INGERSOLL RAND. 😉

Re: Rosy's Heavy Duty Welding and Cutting Table Build

TO CONTINUE WITH MY WELDING TABLE BUILD,

Here are some pics taken this afternoon as I resumed welding on the angle bars though they're not colorful but made sure welds were good enough to be posted.

Finished welding the long part of angle bars and cleaned all weld of spatters and remaining slags.

Here are just some close ups of the weld beads.

Re: Rosy's Heavy Duty Welding and Cutting Table Build

AND ANOTHER SET :

During the process of welding, I would alternately use either one of these rods continuoslly to see the difference between these two, the 6011 and the 6013 welding rods, though I used 120amps on both rods. I've noticed that the 6011 has more weld spatters and of course deeper penetrations than the 6013s. But the 6013s produces better looking welds compared to the 6011s.

Next will be wire brushing the whole welds removing all possible slags and spatter and then will apply metal primer so not encourage rust to develop before the proper assembly of the angle bars.

To be continued and thanks for viewing !!!!!!!!

Re: Rosy's Heavy Duty Welding and Cutting Table Build

AND TO CONTINUE WORKING WITH THE MAIN FRAME RECEIVER OF THE WELDING TABLE BUILD, here are some more pics to be shared :

Did some additional clean up of rust build ups the whole morning, chipped and wire brushed some slags embedded on the weld beads, then started applying epoxy primer again on the angle iron bars.

Took advantage of the hot sunny day so I was able to finish brushing epoxy primer on the angle iron bars, dried them completely and fast. I have an ordinary SPRAYIT gun but did not attempt to use it coz I'm not yet familiar on how to use that spray. Maybe I'll try using it when the whole table is already assembled and have enough courage to tinker with the spray gun.

OK, done painting the main angle iron bars and some close up shots of the painted welds.
Next will be assembly and welding time, start of the excitement process.

Re: Rosy's Heavy Duty Welding and Cutting Table Build

Assembly time, using my angle clamp to hold the angle iron bars correctly. Plus using a TAJIMA magnetic bar level and a framing square to see every thing is in order.

Used this Mayes rafter framing square to make sure corner joints is totally 45 degree correct. This Mayes framing square is just great, all numbers are so clear and crisp, no need to wear glasses when using this tool, I won't have a hard time checking the numbers. Got this from bro JayL , thanks man.
If you will notice there is a gap between the two angle bars, I purposely made it that way living a 1/16" gap so that when I start applying welds, the welds will penetrate the gap melting both sides of the metal which I think is much better than just doing a butt joint wherein the welds will just be on top of the metal joint.

There's the left side, cleared and well leveled, 0 to 0 clearance.

Re: Rosy's Heavy Duty Welding and Cutting Table Build

And the right side, cleared and well leveled, with 0 to 0 clearance.

I inserted a spent 1/16" welding rod on the gap to maintain gap clearance.

OK, everything is set for welding time, though just tack welding only for the mean time.

Re: Rosy's Heavy Duty Welding and Cutting Table Build

AND AGAIN TO CONTINUE ON THE ANGLE IRON BAR ASSEMBLY :

I'll be using E6011 welding rod for tacking and full welding for good penetration on the joints.

But on a lighter side just want to compare my old Stanley carpenter's square to my new Mayes black rafter framing square.

Now you can see the difference, I don't use the Stanley anymore for measuring, just can't see anymore the lines and numbers specially the metrics. Need to be wearing glasses almost every time I'm working, them lines have become so small and blurry. Wow talking of aging and failing eye sights, sigh !!!

Re: Rosy's Heavy Duty Welding and Cutting Table Build

OK, made some tacks on the joints, chipped off the slags with a very pointed edge Tramontina chipping hammer to expose the nice weld beads.

Re: Rosy's Heavy Duty Welding and Cutting Table Build

Tacked weld also the outer corner of the angle iron bar. Here I just realize that I should have taken pic of this corner with a gap whichn was due to the 1/16" spacing I made for the top metal joints.

If you will notice, I have inserted a piece of 3" nail to bridge the wide gap on the corner joint. I'll just apply a full weld on that corner, then will maintain a sharp corner possibly by using too and shaping it with an angle grinder.

TO BE CONTINUED and thanks for viewing again this simple process of assembly.

HEHEHEHEHE, hindi pa pwede bro JayL, still have to tack weld the other corners and make sure they are all perfectly square and fitted and then if so, full welding na. :attack: :attack: 😀

Made also some tack welds on the underside of the angle iron bar.

This particular Petersen Vise Grip adjustable jaw locking pliers are very very good. They don't make these anymore. If you find it in the market then buy. Great locking pliers.
