i will check if somebody already locally has made a research related to SMAW and incidence of skin cancer among pinoy welders.

I have met someone who worked as a pro welder for 20 years. He lost a leg as a result of cancer due to heavy radiation exposure in welding. He used to weld w/o proper garments and worst he was always wearing shorts when he worked on his projects. He operated a machine shop in Pateros and had to fold his business as a result of this tragedy.

Looks like a really slow process taking it's toll. I hope our young welders are reading this and oldies like me as well. :thanks:

Bro Rosy ... the small fan under the welding table might be a good idea. Actually as long as the wind is not directed to the gun and arc then it just might do the trick and cool down the weldor a bit.

This also might help or at least to protect the Face...

Coupled with these .....

Really it's very uncomfortable to weld when it's hot .. specially if you are perspiring a lot in the head and face .. at times it even hinders vision.
