Re: Welding Newbie

Kung minsan hindi lahat welding kaya kailangan din mag rivets lalo na sheet metal.

I specifically purchased this Contractor Grade rivet gun because specs say it can handle stainless steel rivets. I hope I can find these kind of rivets locally as I did not order some.

http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-MR100CG-Contractor-Grade-Riveter/dp/B000BR7JUG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1295020348&sr=8-1

Bro this is locally available, hope this help. No woodworking for me kaya metal working muna.

As you can see medyo bitin ang wire saan kaya ako makakabili ng wire para ditto at affordable price. TIA...;)

Saw that Stanley Rivet gun in Ace before. It's good quality.

Which wire bro? For power extension or for the welding ground and or electrode holder.

For electrode holder / ground wire you can buy cable size 1/0 at any welding hardware. I purchased mine at LYS Hardware in Recto IIRC around 95 pesos per meter.

For extension wire you can get away with AWG 12. I use AWG 10 myself because I plan for an upgrade path later. AWG 10 shielded maybe around 90 pesos per meter.

Re: Welding Newbie

I used this AWG 12 house wiring cable before when I did not have my cable previously posted above yet. I just it as extension now if I need the welder further away from my power source.

Re: Welding Newbie

@Ossie

Makita has service warranty only. Patay na sana kung Makita yan and bumigay.

I'm sure they will honor the warranty but let's see how Bosch will handle this issue.

Pag bumigay din yun sa akin malamang factory defect. Knock on metal. Wala na akong warranty.

Re: Welding Newbie

Thanks Edward.

It's always good to know the proper name for tools.

Do you have a tool like this in the store?

Center Finder

🙂

I am not 100% sure, but I did see a set in their Araneta branch...

Baka nagkataon lang na may factory defect nakuha mo.

I have a bosch cut-off machine GCO-14-2, purchased yr 2006. Hindi naman ako binigyan ng sakit ng ulo. Cut hundred length of steel.
