yup ok lang, you can bend small lenght of metal pag medyo malapit ng konti, but of course dependent on the metal thickness 🙂

@ossie, the E7018 I have are Red colored, no idea why... Are yours the same.. Most I've seen in the net are dark grey.

@all, whats your experience/feedback with Volta welding rods, they are kinda pricey. The distributor claims its for carbon steel.

the 7018 rod i used were nihonweld grey(dark din yata hehe) color. why red? baka para ma distinguised lang sya as 7018? hehehe

i havent used Volta brand. Nihonweld, Wipcord and Cigweld pa lang ang nagagamit ko. saan gawa ang Volta brand? hindi kaya ni Ai Ai? hehe joke lang po...how much daw per kilo or per 5kg?

Volta cost from 150 -250 per kilo.. I dont know how it differs.. I just overheard someone bought them, I was shocked by the price.

Yup, anyway, so far na try ko lang din maganda yung nihonweld,
where do you buy wipcord, I've been looking for that..

I got a bunch of generics, but I only use them in cutting.. Its cheaper around 50/kg.

Anyway, just today, I tried experimenting with wirerod.. Plain GI wire cut like welding rod, covered with paper, soaked in Borax and starch and sun dried. It works, but makes a very annoying smoke, mostly burning paper smell.. I wont really use it for projects. Just testing the idea. I read it in the net, they say its for emergency welding.

Finished drilling the 14mm holes. I'll reload the DP with 12mm later. Break muna .... forum.

This Alpen Made in Austria drill bit looks ok. I'm tempted to check the metric set. Price is a bit more than half what a Dormer England set cost which by the way is not on stock.

Here's the Dowel catch dry fit. Hmmmm .. I might counter sink it a bit for stability. Let's see when all 12mm holes are drilled.

I don't know how I can weld all this now with my normal helmet after trying out an ADH .... 🙁

IIRC mga 260 pesos.

Ossie ... ok na ba yun pasobra sa dowel catch? Gusto ko sana habaan by countersinking it around 2 to 3 mm pa.

Nabutas din lahat. Dry fit.

I need more dowels to align this later. One dowel has a slightly bigger end point. Will need some sanding.

If I was to build this again there's one thing I will do. I won't skimp on the metal cost and buy new and uniform straight ones.

The DP needs some mods. Chip blower and an auto coolant dispersal kit ... maybe foot controlled.

The DP Table is one of the best accessory you can give your DP. Thanks Timb for sharing the build on this one.
