Re: Welding Newbie

More often than not I use these to mount angle and flat bars into concrete.

Let's say the sleeve is 3/8" in diamater:
- what drill bit size should be used?
- would a pilot hole be needed to produce a smaller hole first?
- are there available expansion bolts with an "eye" end?

Re: Welding Newbie

cutting of flat bar (4 1/2 inch wide x 6mm thick) was really easy with Chop Saw and takes only less than a minute.

@jay,
a modification is needed for cutting metal in different angle and small sizes in our CS. i temporarily used the circle metal as my clamp.

Re: Welding Newbie

I see you moved the fence one step backwards. Hindi ba nahirapan sa me gitna yung blade?

How much per kilo ng 4 1/2" flat bar?

I need to buy some better abrasive blades plus a 14mm drill bit too. Hirap pala pag d complete ng drill bit sizes. Pending lagi work.

2 sets na Tap and Die ko nakalusot pa rin sa kailangan ko. Non standard M12 x 1.25 pala. Trying to build up skills on tapping holes so I will go find this tap. It also needs a 27/64 drill bit but I had this one.

@violane: I'm near Quirino LRT Doc. I would like to use it as a fastener for my tarp garage cover. Thanks and will check the store you mentioned.
