work safe bro...

Re: Welding Newbie

mukhang ok ito gamitin after metal working 🙂

magkano naman score mo sa ganito? i think i need one, recommended ba? ayaw ko kasi magbasa ng kamay agad lalo na pag nag welding, im using wipes lang para luminis linis ang aking kamay hehe

For Oily and Greasy hands this is my choice for a Hand Cleaner. Works well and have been using the product for a long time now.

Re: Welding Newbie

I just checked my 6013 rods. I have 4mm and 4.7mm.

Have you tried using the 4mm for thinner gauge metal?

Yes, made some nasty holes with it..

For thin metals, I use 3.2mm 6013 rods by Nihonweld they cost P140 per kilo.. Kinda pricey but worth it..

I also tried the 3.2mm 6011 by IT weld.. cost P160 per kilo, its sparks well, even at #1 setting for Powercraft welder...

Re: Welding Newbie

i remember you posted your different brand and different amperage rating of your welders, why not use the heavy duty one so no need for modification to your small welder?

Sometimes.. I use the small welders especially the portable ones, if the project is immovable, or out of the garage... The heavy duty welder, its good and has longer duty cycle, but kinda heavy...

That's the reason why I need to modify the light ones...

Re: Welding Newbie

Here's the transformer of jiali 200A..

Here's the fan I bought form Raon

I measured the temperature with an industrial mercury thermometer, it reads around 40 degrees without load, when I add the fan, it reads around 34-36 degrees. (Nawala na sinat nung trasformer..)

I'll try tomorrow to test the temperature while welding in heavy settings...

Noted sir... I edited it already..

hey Clay,
from where are you? it seems that your rods are bit pricey, rod per kilo in bacoor is Php100 Nihonweld

It is, because I just buy them from the local hardware.. But, some times I buy in Binondo, Its cheaper by almost 30-50 pesos...

Anyway, Im using Nihonweld special 3.2mm 6013 and 6011

About ITweld, Im using 3.0mm and 3.2mm I use it for thin metals, sometimes even on sheet metals and welded wires..

Most of my projects are kinda thin and lightweight..

I only use 4mm rods when cutting and on thicker metals.. It cost around 50 pesos/kg here.

anyway, Im near makati...
