Re: Welding Newbie

@master Timb,
thanks hehe

@JayLo,
wow, magnetic magnet 😀
madami inorder mo? baka may gusto din nyan sa mga metal boys dito? buy 1 take 1? 😮

I ordered some welding magnets to try out.

Maybe there will be times when these will be more convenient to use than clamps.

Re: Welding Newbie

StrongHand Tools. Sa China production nila pero mukhang magaling na company para sa mga welding accessories. Highly recommended mga products nila by Garage Journal and Welding Web. For this reason I tried some of their magnets.

However hindi naman ako masyado nagsiguro na ok products nila so I ordered some Bessey magnets too.

I'm still a newbie and don't have experience with welding magnets. Lets see if these works well.

@John-jo

Kaya pala bro wala ka nag busy sa office. Hope all is well.

Join us with your WIPs whenever you will be free. I ilan ilan pa lang kasi tayong metal boys dito for now.

Regarding new threads it would be great if we could compile all the WIPs, info and materials in one section. We'll ask Sir Timber if he can request the Site Owner to put a Metalworking Section for us.

Re: Welding Newbie

thanks.

if you have time, pls try to capture and post some pics of your projects 🙂 baka pwede namin gayahin hehe

Here's my current project. An adaptor for my 2200W angle grinder. Hopefully it would work as a Cut-off when finished.

The metal is kinda dirty, I just bought it from the junkshop.

I'll post the final image when I finish the project tomorrow. Hopefully I find a 9" cutting disk, I currently installed a 7" disk since I could not find one as of now. But the grinder was really meant for a 9" disk..

@clayfigur

Bro we'll be anxiously waiting your angle grinder jig. Such DIY power tool jigs are also good provided safety features are incorporated into the design.

Re: Welding Newbie

I purchased some metal materials to continue fabrication for my toy metal bender.

Price for new undersized Flat Metal Bars

1 1/2" x 1/2" x 24" - 130 pesos
2" x 1/2" x 24" - 170 pesos
2 1/2" x 1/2" x 24" - 200 pesos

I also got the 22 mm hole I need to move the handle more towards the center of the bender flat bars. I decided to farm this job out instead of buying a hole saw and doing it myself. Hole cost 20 pesos done using a 20 Ton hole punch machine. Since a precision hole is not needed here this method is OK.

Will need to do some cutting again.

Re: Welding Newbie

Look who's in the picture 🙂

JayL's source of new metal, they will cut the lenght of metal according to your needs, no need to buy 20ft long as standard size of metal. they are also accepting cutting job for thicker metals.

its in Pasay btw, along taft ave.
