^ He even showed off the continuous slag ^_^. I must say it sure felt rewarding when you attain that. You could hear it crinkle and almost pops off by itself.

Sir JayL, did you up the amperage setting or slowed your pace compared to the first pic? Looks like the weld's just a teeny-weeny bit hot from the ideal, and it sunk.

Looks like you guys have no problem with rust. Night and day temp difference here is rather large, and my workshop being semi-open, i think dew is the the cause of rust.

i dont like the way this caster was built:

so i decided to weld it.

I tried the Nihon rods you gave me. I noticed that the welds looks more shiny. It's as if they use a better filler rod.

That mod should take care of caster durability issue. 🙂
