I have this one ...

http://www.amazon.com/Ingersoll-125-Standard-Needle-Scaler/dp/B0002STTDE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349440665&sr=8-1&keywords=needle+scaler

I use it for slag cleaning during stick welding and for heavy rust removal. From the limited use I have done so far I might not be willing to use it myself for sheet metal cleaning. IMO just too powerful that it can cause dents.

Re: Welding Newbie

Here's a more simpler metal bender design I found at welding web.

Old school yes .... alambre or sometimes metal coat hangers. Filler wires should be available now depending on what metal to weld .... i.e. stainless steel, aluminum etc...

@ vrcinfo,

Bro, the link bro JayL posted just worked fine with me, but looking at this link does not matter any more since he has already posted the pictures he wanted to share.

And yes that metal bender version of burnt09 from Welding web.com looks cool too and much simpler to fabricate or build. Maybe guys you should start thinking of building one for yourselves, I know its gonna be useful, very useful when doing some metal fabs and bending metals. 😉 🙂

Re: Welding Newbie

Bro Liteace,

If you're serious on welding get yourself an Auto Darkening Helmet. It will do you a lot better.

Its a welding mask, pero helmet. Hehehe. You don't have to hold it kaya libre yung kamay mo.
And it automatically darkens pag naka-detect ng bright light.

Here's one video showing how it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JClRxKRWFA&feature=fvwre l"> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JClRxKRWFA&feature=fvwrelhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JClRxKRWFA&feature=fvwrel

Re: Welding Newbie

hello gents,

I have finally got around to try my cheapo welder - it's a cougar 200amp. It was referred t as a cheapo since I only got it for 2k. it was great as well to have an ADH. i have the power craft one.
I just noticed it took a while to return to clear. I adjusted it to the max settings. Great stuff!
All I did was to practice on 10mm bars left over from the construction of my work shed.
Again guys it's an amazing thing!
