Hit/miss. Kalahati tunaw, kalahati dikit.

Tiyagaan lang talaga. And lots of spare nuts!

Pero meron namang JBWeld. Pwede na rin.

Settings ng yamato DCEN ..then Try to hit the metal first where the nut will be welded..in that technique mas mag iinit muna yung bakal kesa sa nut.. Once the arc is started quickly lift the stinger, magugulat ka pa sa result naka weld yung nut pero hindi lusaw..

8mm nut welded in flat bar

12mm nut welded in 1" square tube

Re: What's making me Busy lately ???

Yes, oil is good too, another way is to add grease on the threads of the bolt or nut then screw them together so it can be positioned properly on the metal surface with the hole then grip the head of the bolt with a vise and then apply spot welds. Purpose also of having the bolt there is to prevent spatters from getting into the nut threads. ;)

Re: What's making me Busy lately ???

Just an update for this project, A log cutting stand and power saw carrier !

Progress was very slow, working on it when time permits plus many ideas where coming in mind since the whole project was not drawn or planned on paper so working along and would imagine just what to add next to this and that area. Not so much pics where taken during the entire process, sorry for that, but manage to take some few pics here and there.

Added two gussets on the main pipe joints to support the 1" vertical GI pipe.

Then worked on installing the wheels to its axle, then inserting and attaching them to the ends of the rear 2" GI pipe.

Then I added this i/2" thick plate in the front end of the 2" GI pipe for two purpose, it is where I will attach my two swiveling 1" X 30" GI pipes as support and balancer in case a long and heavy log is placed on top for cutting. The other one underneath it is that pointed or sharp metal that will secure and prevent movement of the log stand from moving backwards or forward during cutting sessions.

Worked on this 1/2" thick X 1 5/8" X 5" piece of steel plate, rounded one end, bore a hole and then inserted the piece between sliced 1" GI pipe and welded it. This will be bolted/attached to the piece of metal welded on the front end of the 2" GI pipe.

This is the purpose of the 1" X 30" GI pipes.

The folded pipe support or balancer.

Now this is the log stand brushed with three coats of metal epoxy, that's after cleaning and wire brushing all rusted parts and applying TURBO Rust Remover and Converter before applying the final finish coats.

And finally the painted log stand. Used the Dewalt or McCULLOCH color schemes, chrome yellow, black and with the addition of silver chrome and it tuned out very nice and very appealing.

Re: What's making me Busy lately ???

Added some features for easier use !

Added these two caddies for my fuel mix containers.

Made a larger or wider sit for the log, welded some 16mm corrugated steel bars then also welded a backing 3/16" plate.

Re: What's making me Busy lately ???

For the power saw holster, I made a circular knob then welded it on the bolts head for easy turning locking the guide bar.

Also added a D shaped handle welded to a piece of GI pipe, placed at the upper portion of the vertical 1" pipe and then tightly secured by two stainless nuts and bolts.

Re: What's making me Busy lately ???

With the attachments installed/placed, I guess its ready now for the task it is intended for !!

Finally, another project finished, started and finished by using the Yamato 200 amp DC Inverter.

And this is how this will be rolled out to the intended cutting site ! I suppose I'll just be pulling or pushing it to reach the cutting area.

Thanks for viewing !!
