Re: What's making me Busy lately ???
I noticed that you have 2T motorcycle oil on the stand. Is that what you use for your chainsaw? Or you just made use of the bottles?
I have kasi a small chainsaw on a long stick.
It works well. But the manual says to use chainsaw oil which I don't know where to get. Until I browsed and found some people use vegetable oil. So, it's mantika for me from then on. I'd appreciate knowing what your experience is on yours. Thanks!
Re: What's making me Busy lately ???
Ding,
There are different brands of chain saws, small or big ones and require certain motor oil to lubricate the chain while it is rotating on its guide bar while cutting. Yes 2T motorcycle oil is what I use as lubricant for the chain as well as for my fuel / oil mixture for the McCULLOCH power saw and the vacuum/blower I use everyday.
With regards to your pole pruner, I suppose that is an electric type, meaning no need for fuel/oil mixture use but simply oil for lubrication only. The vegetable oil you are using is suppose to be an stop gap only by some people who just can't find the right oil to use. The 2T oil does the same job of lubricating the guide bar and the chain to prevent it from heating up plus it keeps the sharpness of the chain cutters from dulling. Its just the basic requirement for any chainsaw to have some amount of motor oil being continuously fed to the guide bar and chain while it is in operation. 😉

Thanks bugel.
Yup ! its a two stoke small engine. A 16" and 18" guide bars simply to cut fallen trees for fire wood.
With regards to the fuel I use for the power saw, I stick with " premium gasoline ", mas malinis compared to the regular gasoline.
