Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

@ V. Lestat,

Ahhh, with your stated budget of 18K or 19K for a 200 amps 2-1 DC inverter (arc & tig combo) , it will not suffice. Usually these amount will fit only the 160 amps range or not the combo type of 2-1 welder.

ASEA 200 amp DC Tig/Arc (KOREAN made) costs 36K.

RILAND 200 amp DC Tig/Arc (China/Taiwan made) costs 25K.

RILON 200 amp AC/DC Tig w/ MMA (China/Taiwan made) costs 38K.

I am adding this new imports, also from (China/Taiwan), falls under your budget of 19K.
HiTronic 2-1 200 amp Tig inverter and Arc welding machine.

Sorry to say bro but most of the welders sold locally are China/Taiwan made, I guess if you want US or European made welders, then you have to pay a bit more.

HOPE THIS HELPS !!! 😉 :consoling2: 😎

Hi-tronic is one of the major brand by Riland Industry. Same manufacturer of Rilon, Riland & T&R. Riland Industry had already make a name in inverter technology.

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Had to bring in my Yamato 200A DC IGBT for repairs a few days ago.
This is the second round of repairs.

First time, it was the operator's fault: a workman knocked it off a scaffold,'
and only the power cord kept it from falling down two stories, but then the
cord (or rather the cord terminals inside the machine) suffered damage.
It was a day's repair.

This time, it's a little more serious. the lights are on but nobody's home:
the cable terminals seem to be dead, even though the power light is lit.
It flaked out in the middle of laying a low-amp bead of stainless.

Fourth workday with no good news from EY...
I guess we'll see if the little box will live again, or not... but for now, I
have to use an old AC welder, and I just don't like it as much as DC.

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Bro nephet... Generally no... not unkess you're 3xperiencing a drop in your ac voltage specially during peak demand hours. But there's a way around this... you can just go buy an avr with sufficient amperage to stabilize the ac voltage for the dc welder.

Forgot to update:
I finally got the repaired unit back last Tuesday, after roughly three weeks.
It seems one of the mobos fried, and I asked their technician how it might
have happened, and his opinion is the user left an electrode stuck to the
workpiece for too long. I interviewed the crew and they swore that's not
what happened. *sigh*. I guess that means it did.

That said, doesn't the unit have a fuse to save the mobo from cooking?

Anyway, the unit works just great again.
Rhen was apologetic for the long delay, and basically they had to gut and
cannibalize a new unit for spares to repair my old one. PhP1950 to fix.

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Well bro horge, its good to know that your welder is working great again, cheers to that !
But I suppose you have to educate your crew of the welder's capabilities and limitations to prevent another disaster/malfunction of your unit. 😮

Similar to bro joey81's case, he bought 3 units for his brother in law's welding shop and in no time they all bogged down one by one for not observing duty cycle, used it for cutting and others. In other words, they were abused beyond its limits, maybe them welders were thinking its similar to an AC machine in a smaller housing. Anyway, I think that is the same price he paid for each welder's for repairs.

I did something even better: I confiscated the DC unit from them.
They're never touching it again, and they're stuck with lugging that
oh-so-heavy large AC welder up and down and all around.

Serves them right.

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Dear Sir,
I do DIY around the house, farm and wooden sailboat repair. I just joined this forum after a lot of back reading. I would like to purchase that 200A Yamato inverter welder and while the back threads show a warehouse in QC / Amoranto, It does not show any contact number (or probably I missed it). I saw in facebook something like Tims Tools and Indistrial 143 or thereabouts. Could you share the contact number please? I live in Manila, work in makati and will use the machine in San Juan, Batangas and Manila.

Awaiting.....

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Hi ecobangb,

Most of us here got our Yamato 200 DC inverter from IndustrialSupply 143 or EY Industrial Sales Inc. with their new address in QC, Araneta Ave.

Get in touch with JosephS, he is now the marketing guy there, and also a member of this forum, where we got our Yamato units. They have two variations now, the one in a box only at 5.7K and another is the one with a very portable carrying case at 6K, these are the discounted prices for PHM members. They offer warranted good after sales services which we have enjoyed this past years on the units serviced. 😎

complete address:
109-A Kapiligan St. Araneta Ave., Quezon City
Tels. 416-1334 , 559-5112 , 559-5113

Good Luck and hope this helps !! ;):D

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Hi,

I also want to buy the yamato dc inverter. I have not even held a welding machine but i want to learn to use it. Can anyone in the forum explain what the dc inverter can do? Thanks so much.

Pahabol: I am trying to get in touch with JosephS but unfortunately, JosephS appears not to accept PMs. I would like to know how much is the inverter and whether he could arrange for shipping here in the province.
