nagpaplano pa lang akong mag-aral finally ng welding, then nakita ko ang thread mo about stick welding.

na-engganyo tuloy ako dahil sa mga info na ni-share mo sa amin kaya naisipan kong mag-canvass ng welding machine. then, meron namang review, at tiempo pa na yun mismong napupusuan kong machine.

tapos, ngayon naman e merong group buy. I CAN SEE THE LIGHT!!!

PRE, I'm glad to be of help to other member and glad too that you are interested to learn the skill of welding. Bro you won't be sorry in learning this skill, it will serve you well in the future, just follow the exercises I made or suggested, then practice repeatedly and in no time you will acquire self confidence already in applying welds and probably doing metal projects already.

Don't be discourage if your welds at first would appear ugly, that's natural for beginners, dumaan din ako dyan and would you believe I would sometimes make ugly welds too but of course there are my grinders to use to grind the ugly welds and apply another good ones. Brad, secret here is patience and practice. 😉

Yes I have made arrangement with the seller that some PHM members who will buy the unit might go to the warehouse earlier than the group buy since they probably live nearer or along the QC area or they may buy the unit at a later date due to previous commitment. Any way basta PHM member, may discount !!!! Hopefully she doesn't change her mind. 😮

Yes joey81, dalawang tulog na lang and I myself is excited for you guys and still nadadagdagan pa ang names sa list of interested purchasers. HAHAHAHA

Bro with regards to very basic accessories, of course the face mask/shield which is already free inside the box with the steel brush cum chipping hammer. Additional is a pair of soft leather gloves, the long one, about 12" in length to protect your hands and fingers from the UV light and sparks plus you might suddenly/accidentally touch the hot welded metal, OUCH OUCH OUCH !! HEHEHE, PASO MGA DALIRI MO. Then a pair of pliers and maybe a vise grip, then a hack saw for the mean time, its cheaper than an angle grinder but if you can afford an angle grinder, get a Skil or Bosch 4" angle grinder for starters.

Anyway I have attached a list I made for AV973 because he was also asking for this on the other thread. Bro these accessories does not have to be imported or US made, there are so many brands you can find in mall hardwares or DIY SHOPS near you, saka ka nalang mag upgrade, hehehe.

1.) Welding mask or helmet
2.) soft leather gloves, the long one
3.) No coveralls please, its too hot this days, it will be very uncomfortable for you, a simple long sleeves and denim pants, not shorts.
4.) Safety shoes, possibly steel toe
5.) A pair of pliers and some vise grips
6.) Respirator mask to be worn under the hood for protection against fumes inhalation
7.) Maybe a small fan, directed to the welder to fan out the welding fumes.
8.) Chipping hammer, pang tiktik sa welding slags
9.) A 4" angle grinder for grinding or cutting metals
10.) A hack saw, lagareng pang bakal
11.) Measuring steel tape, good for 3M or 5M
12.) Pencil or scriber
13.) white soap chalk
14.) a small fire extinguisher, just in case of accidental fire
15.) face shield or mask/goggles for eye protection when metal grinding
16.) Ear muffs or ear plugs, hehehe, to protect your ear drums.
17.) Wire or steel brush

Bought it from an industrial store in Cainta, Rizal but saw one at Hans Tools sa may Shang, Mandaluyong, I don't know if they have this sa Binondo stores.

@erviola, pareho nga! meron akong nahiram na yamato AC welder din, altho may hina-hire pa akong marunong mag-welding. ang tagal natambay sa amin nung machine. kaso, kung kailan naman ako nag-decide na mag-aral ng welding e saka biglang kinuha ng may-ari.
oks lang din, kasi nung nawala yung welder e saka ako naghalungkat sa internet at dito ko natagpuan ang PHM.

Pre for me buying an ADH, if let us say you are just starting to weld and with a budget, is just a big kapritso, honestly, because one can still weld with the ordinary welding mask available locally, anyway inside the box of this welder there is a free welding mask that we can use and get by, there are also locally available mask or helmet that may only cost you less than a thousand bucks, my point here bro is that be practical first, sa kapa practice mo, the lens of the ordinary welding mask or helmet can easily be soiled by weld sparks and replacing them is very easy, its available in any hardware store or home depots or mall hardwares. BRO, for me useless muna ADH, pa astig lang yan, eh kung hindi ka naman marunong mag welding, sisirain mo lang auto lens nyan, hard to replace pa, mahal pa but on a later date if you feel or others starting at medyo sanay na mag weld and you want to upgrade to ADH and have a budget, go ahead buy one which you can afford.

Willy bro, don't worry about Sat. if you are not available, buy the weld machine at your own convenient and available time, I have made arrangements with the seller that any PHM members who will buy the unit will get the agreed discount, naka lista naman name mo diba bro, so nothing to worry. Actually I had a chat with the seller this pm and she told me two PHM members have avail already of a unit each just this week and was given the said discount promised for PHM members, so good luck bro whenever you are free. 😉 😀
