Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Just an update, all names listed have purchased each unit and avail of the special discounts given by Miss Mimi, the seller. But still there are two more members who have expressed desire to purchase a unit each, so guys just list your names down so that the seller may see the additional names and reserve units for you.

THANKS !!!

Nos. 1 to 14, done.

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Picture picture naman LOL.

We're all excited with our new DC welders and would be glad to see how others are doing with their units ..... tks

I still have not used mine aside from the random burn it test I did so far.

Here it is.....
My welding still sucks, but then again as what everybody here is suggesting, more practice lang kailangan.

Got time this morning na tumakas at nasubukan ang Yamato.

Will soon try the 6011 and the bigger 6013.

Mag utol hehehe

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

May na encounter lang ako sa Yamato. It only happened once.

In the middle of the welding activity, right after na mai align yung next side ng workpiece, nagsimulang dumikit yung rod every time I would start an arc.
What I did was to power off the unit, wait for a minute, then power on again, ok na. Not sure what this is. Overheat na ba ito? Maybe the experts can comment and correct me if I am doing it wrong.

200A :smshocked: ano ba ang welding rod and size na gamit mo? also, if I am not mistaken 160A lang ang rating ng Yamato kahit 200A nakasulat (though I could be wrong). but eventhough, I never needed to go to more than 120A when I use a 1/4" stainless rod...

looking forward to the welding gurus reply.

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Just found out yesterday that my brother-in-law has been looking for one. The cheapest he saw was 15K. Chinese brand.

Bro Bocheks........,

Pre your welding applications does not suck, from the pics you showed, it seems you've had experience applying welds before, maybe you just used the wrong size of welding electrode, like what you mentioned, you used a 6013 na maliit o payat and I suspect that is a 3/32 welding electrode and perhaps a Nihonweld ?, usually kasi the thinner welding electrodes are used for thinner metals of about 1/16" to 1/8" thick to prevent warping and metal blowouts.

May I suggest that you stick using the standard 1/8" 6013 or 6011or 7018 welding rods when welding thick metals and probably increase your ampere settings to 130 or 140 or more to complete your weld deposits on the thick metals thus avoiding those crater looking welds in between , that used to be my problem then but was able to rectify the mistake by increasing the amperage.

Now with regards to the Yamato weld machine giving out a red color warning on the OC indicator, again looking at your weld applications, it looks like you welded continuously and possibly consuming 2, 3 or more welding rods specially using the thin rods, maybe you have reached the point where you have to rest the machine for about 4 or 5 minutes, and that is typical of a 200amp Inverter machine, what you did was correct, turn off the machine and let it rest for a few minutes, perhaps 4 or 5 minutes , then its ready to go again. The red light is just a warning light, no need to be alarmed, basta pag nag we welding ka na tuloy tuloy, ones in a while glance at the machine to see if the red light is lighting up and if it does, you know what to do already.

HEHEHEHE, do remember your new YAMATO DC Inverter arc machine is very much different from your ELEMAX AC arc machine, does it have a higher amperage, probably 300, 400 or 500 AMPS ?

Brad joey81, if you are sure to get another unit, ask for additional discount perhaps on the unit or the replacement of the electrode holder. GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND !!!:bounceD:

Aba !!!! eh two units na makukuha mo sa kanila ah, dapat lang na may discount pa, diba ?? LOL

It happened once lang naman, and you are right, I think I consumed 2 or maybe 3 welding rods straight in completing one side. No choice kasi kanina at wala yung normal sized na rod (which I think is 1/8), at yung meron lang stock ay yung maliit na 6013. Nanibago lang ako since sa elemax, at 120A using the small 6013, sigurado sangkatutak na butas ang workpiece mapa tubo man o thick steel.

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

ano ba duty cycle ng Yamato dc 200, di ba 60% at 200 amperes?
kasi when I was looking for one before, most of the 200A welding machine I looked at were 100% duty cycle already at 115 amperes...

Re: A Poll survey for YAMATO DC Inverter Welder

Siguro need lang ng reset nung welder.

Reboot .... LOL

None the less for the price paid I never expected anything more than a light duty machine.

Looking back at the innards of the welder I noticed one blank space for another capacitor. Probably it's something to look at when the time to do some mods come.
