It id not come with a power cord. I have some left over #12 stranded wires. Will these work? Can I plug it in on a 15A breaker ( household outlet ) ?

Finally found a good reasonably price ground clamp by Lenco Model EG-300.

Hope it improves the machine's performance.

Found some Cigweld 7024 type rods on sale . Good rods for flat position & high deposition jobs. 60 pesos per kg.

These are "drag" electrodes, since the core rod burns back within a cone of coating, the correct arc length is automatically maintained when simply dragging the rod along the joint at a slight angle.

How much is the ground clamp Jay? Having 3 contacts I can see why you say it is better. Unfortunately, I just recently changed the one on my set.

Also, please explain about the electrodes you found. By "just dragging" do you mean there is not need to maintain a gap, or that you don't have to wave it? Where did you get them?

I have not tried the rods as yet but yes there is no need to maintain a gap. These are 7024 type rods.

They are the Thermadyne distributor. I got my 10 year old but unused Victor Oxy Ace Torch outfit serviced by them prior to using it. I just chanced upon the rods. Too bad they did not have the 7014 rods which solidify faster.

You mentioned that Stainless Steel rods are good to use too. Which brand and number are these?

On the contrary dito sa ganitong welder ka talaga ma hasa ng husto. Very unforgiving ito so pag lipat mo sa magandang welder petik petik lang. Practice muna ako dito ng coordination skills.

JayL, I also have this powercraft 200A stick welder like yours... works great... I bought it co'z I got tired carrying my uncle's 300A welder (really heavy)...
