LOL ... I'll ask my son to get a macro lens.

He was reluctant at first to loan his cam to me given my history of being cam accident prone.

OT

Have you any idea about this cam bro?

Re: Bosch GC02 Professional Abrasive Chop Saw

OO mahirap na. Better be safe than sorry. At times medyo hassle din kung suot tanggal suot tanggal. So what I'm doing is line up all jobs that use the same protective gears in batches as much as possible. Like for example major cuttings usually is a one batch. So mahirap pag walang drawing plans ... paano mo lahat puputulin muna ..... LOL.

Re: Bosch GC02 Professional Abrasive Chop Saw

Interesting spark throw patterns. I thought that it would be a long, thin, and highly directed jet like from a rocket engine, but it looks like it's all over the place, almost 360 deg.

Reminds me of the metal shops in Binondo ... using the sidewalk and street as their blast zones.

I did not have an infra red thermometer to check the metal temperature but I'm sure the abrasive metal cutting process made the cut pieces very hot.

I'll try to remember to measure this the next time I encounter someone with a cut-off/chop saw. The 'too hot to handle' description could use some actual numbers.

The Point and Shoot Digicam thread sprouted here?

Pentax has been releasing waterproof models every year or so ... WP, WPi, W10, W20, W30, W60, W80, WS80, W90, and now WG-1 with and without GPS. I've had W30 and W90. Optics, ability to focus, and stabilization (if any) have been decent but underwhelming compared with non-waterproof cameras, but I needed the waterproofness. Instead of continuing with the WG-1, I am inclined to jump ship to the Panasonic DMC-TS3 for a change. Hoping that the Panasonic optics will be less underwhelming.

Panasonic has also had its waterproof progression, DMC-TS1, -TS2, -TS10, and now -TS3 with GPS. If you don't need GPS, the -TS10 could be a good choice for shop use, and it is below $200.

Pentax W90 has one nice feature, which I assume is carried forward to the WG-1. 'Digital Microscope' mode (1 cm macro with LED lights).

Re: Bosch GC02 Professional Abrasive Chop Saw

@guad,

nice docu on the microscope mode on that p&s cam.

all is fine except for the harsh led lights.

there are certainly tons of pages for digital media threads and i dont think this site will ever need one for that purpose.

once in a while, off topic like this is negligible.

If I adjust the spark defector fully up then most of the sparks will be directed forwards.

I've never tried other chop saws but this one seems to have very minimal sparks directed towards the operator.

I would be curious too to get some temperature readings on the cut metal pieces. Please post some data whenever you have it.

Re: Bosch GC02 Professional Abrasive Chop Saw

The GCO2 Professional 14" Abrasive Chop Saw is now with me doing metal cutting duties in my shop.

having a chat with Golden, this model is the same model as the GC2000 Professional. only cheaper which is better for a lot of consumers while keeping the same quality and features.
the very first day I had this in my shop, it already saw work on 2" square tubes and 3/16" thick 2x2" angular bars...

to this.

any metalworking shop should have one of these, not only is it easy to cut metal but you can make it a finely tuned machine to cut squarely of perfect miters on it....

click my signature and it will take you there........

Re: Bosch GC02 Professional Abrasive Chop Saw

congrats again timber, grinder na lang kulang mo hehehe or meron ka na din? Iba talaga pag may cut off machine, madali lang matapos ang project since yung cutting of metals ang most tedious part of it.

Re: Bosch GC02 Professional Abrasive Chop Saw

very helpful thread jayL. reading and rereading your post to try to determine if there are any differences with the gco 2000. its currently 2,500 cheaper. plus bosch is going to offer 20% discount for this yearend so yeyyeyeyeye!

Re: Bosch GC02 Professional Abrasive Chop Saw

I mean, the first option is the gco2 because is 2,500 cheaper than the gco2000. So, since there isnt much difference, the gco2 might be the better buy. Plus its 20% off pa daw.
