Re: Let's Talk About ANGLE GRINDERS

Bro, crazyboi_6,

If you are gonna buy other power tools or the tools you are building as an arsenal for your future projects, may I suggest you stick to Panda, Araneta branch, make yourself be their suki and likewise their store to you and you will see soon they will recognize you, if let us say you are there every weekend purchasing their product or tools, time will come when padating ka palang ng front door nila sasalubungin kana nila with wide open arms., he he he ang sarap ng feeling.

One of this days I'll visit their store and maybe shop around, like what you said before, ang sarap mamili ng tools dyan. ( tool shopping spree )

i think i will. their prices are lower compared to the hardwares around my area. their staff ricky has been the one entertaining my questions. dami ko pa naman tanong about their prices kc walang tag items nila. anyway, what brand of grinding disk would you recommend? i'm excited to use my grinder.

Re: Let's Talk About ANGLE GRINDERS

Why bro, they did not give you a grinding disc ? It depends on what material you are going to grind or cut.

If its for grinding metal then its the 1/4 thick inch grinding disc stone but is its for metal cutting then its the thinner 1/16 inch cutting disc. I am surprised they did not include a grinding disc on your new angle grinder., I wonder!!

Well brands of grinding discs, plenty, of course its original Bosch grinding disc, but then there's the Makita brand, Dewalt brand , Black & Decker brand, the Maxell brand and the very expensive Tyrolit brand etc.

These are all good quality grinding discs but I suggest you first stick with the Bosch original grinding disc.

@ crazyboi_6,

Bro since you said that you're kinda excited in using your new angle grinder, reminder lang po, don't forget your safety gears like ear muffs, eye goggles or face shield and hand gloves or maybe your steel toe footwear.

Its better to be reminded than be sorry in the end due to carelessness :cry2: 😮

Re: Let's Talk About ANGLE GRINDERS

[ B]Here are more infos and safety tips when using your ANGLE GRINDERS:

A refresher here first,

First of all an angle grinder is a heavy duty piece of tool that is powered by electricity, compressed air or gasoline powered motor., Disc is changeable and can be made of various materials that can cut with no sharp blade involved. Think of it as a heavy duty whirling piece of sandpaper heavy and powerful enough to cut through steel, concrete, tiles, asphalt, metal rebars and concrete pavers.

Angle grinders are really dangerous if not used properly and with no safety precautions. When using one choose an angle grinder by the size of the disc, the type of power source used and the amount of power you want in the motor.

Ok on the wheel or disc, use proper safety equipment, wheels can shred in use and go flying and sparks of all kind go flying too. User should use thick gloves. safety goggles or face shield., ear muffs or ear plugs are also a must since the grinder gives out loud noise which can affect our hearing. Don't forget too safety footwear, preferably steel toe shoes as protection for your feet just in case concrete or metal fall on you.

With your new angle grinder, read first your owner's manual instructions and familiarize yourself with all of its features and safety guidelines. When operating an angle grinder, always keep children and animals away from you and check also if there are any flammable gasoline or kerosene nearby, cover or secure them so not to start a fire due to its flying sparks.
Practice first grinding on a small job or project so to familiarize yourself with the tool.

Re: Let's Talk About ANGLE GRINDERS

@ spyghost,

Bro I think there are, you can check industrial tool shops for those sanding disks with build-in threads in the center and if they have them you can also buy some circular sanding paper of various grits. You may also try sanding flap disks sizes 4" and 5" of various grits too. 😉 :p

These are available at famous home depots near you or at DIY stores and even at mall hardwares.

for my application i would prefer the sanding disks because i need the flexibility. flap disks are on the hard side and inflexible

Try Maxsell ( saw some in Wilcon ) . They sell screw in sanding attachment pad plus 5" sanding disc in different grits. I just don't know if what they have will fit your angle grinder spindle size.

Re: Let's Talk About ANGLE GRINDERS

they have either velcro or adhesive backing for these sanding pads, another option is to use sanding disks without the pads, these are the semi hard sandpaper thats directly installed on the grinder, people usually use 2 or 3 discs at a time to make them stiffer...hth

Re: Let's Talk About ANGLE GRINDERS

you can usually get lotus brand side handles from major hardware stores, i think they come in two thread sizes, the guard would have to be from kyk though since each brand has a different way of attaching to the grinder....
