Re: Please show your Welders

Pahabol bro joaquim, problem with these old school welders, they don't have buit-in switches, once tapped to a main source of power, andar agad ang welding machine. What I did with my 300amp Yamato was install a separate safety switch box attached to the welder's body, about 60 amps fuses, this way I can turn off the welder if I have to do some grinding on a weld even though it is still tapped to a main power source. I do think it is much safer that way.

I can leave the welder for hours without worries on the machine of over heating as long as the safety lever is pulled down.

I hope this little tip helps.

@rosy

Yung 300 na tig/stick ang gusto ko talaga kaso medyo mahal specially for a tech not yet very common. Maybe in my next purchase 🙂

The weld is better using the DC, tagos sa ilalim ang init and the part of the metal I welded parang natunaw ng konti unlike the old machine. I welded my metal hammer, the whole hammer including the handle is hot. Regarding the 7018 finish, after removing the flux with steel brush, parang na grinder na, even and flat. With the 6011 noticed that tagos sa ilalim ang init when I welded two angle bar 4x4x8mm.

Havent cap my welds yet will cap it tommorrow with 6013. With the test I did I thought the welding machine will overheat, its the other way around 🙂

That's a very good idea. Guess I will put the switch box on the Daiden and will probably retire my Yamato and sell it 🙂
