hi guys,
as requested, here's a review of the Powercraft PIW200 Inverter Arc Welder which i got from T. Alonzo a couple of days ago.
First here's a look of the exterior and interior of the Powercraft:

my initial impression is that the inverter seemed to be well made and professionally assembled. I did some test welds, pictures of which i shall be posting also, and it was quieter than my AC Yamato welder. I guess this is true to all inverter welder. Also i found that it was easier to start an arc (i used a couple of 6013 and 6011 rods, electrode positive). I intend to do further testing on this machine and shall be posting the results shortly.

Wow!
That's a lot of high-power transistors. The Yamato DC Inverter only has 4 IGBTs.

magkano score mo jan brader?
@joey81
Yup looks durable... so far finished about 10 rods today without any hiccups... 🙂

Congrats, bro. Looks like a good buy.
Build looks sold. My Yamato's still going strong and happy with it. Yours would be great for those who'd have extra bucks to spare.
Re: Powercraft PIW200 Review w/ pics
ayos a...bale 24 transistors (tama ba bilang ko?)...vs 4 sa yamato. tsaka anlawak ng heatsink. kung may extra pera lang eh. hehe
Re: Powercraft PIW200 Review w/ pics
How about the cable length? Gano kahaba both ground and stinger..
Show us some weld puddle bro amboy..ganda naman nyan..benta ko na si yamato ko! Mas type ko yan hehehe..:D
Yung warranty nga pala kung ganu katagal and kung may after sales sila like parts and everything..:eathis:

^hehe...di naman. mejo lang.haha..
talagang ganyan, may mga bagay na mapapasayo at meron namang hinde. very lucky pa rin ako kasi nakakabili pa rin ng gamit kahit papano just to feed my urge na magDIY ng mga bagay bagay.

yes bro Bugel it has a total of 24 transistors 🙂
cable length for the earth(ground) is about 2 meters and 3 meters for the electrode. One year warranty from Best Achievers. wasn't able to ask for spare parts but after looking inside the machine i don't think it will be hard to source out the parts. Although they mentioned that the service center of powercraft is in cubao if i remember it right or i could just bring it back to them if in case.

okay here's some test weld using the powercraft:
this is the test plate for 6013 at 80, 100 and 120 amps:
after removing the slugs:
cleaned up:
hehe not a perfect bead but the purpose is testing the machine.... (palusot pa o) 😀
though after using it extensively today, i found that the 'sweet spot' for 6013 on the machine is about 70-75 amps (on angle bars and tubes). i'll take a picture of this later on
