Re: Powercraft PIW200 Review w/ pics

here's a test weld using 6011:

cleaned up:

me at the helm:

over all impression so far:
1. really quiet compared to my ac welder
2. so easy to start and sustain an arc
3. easier working on the 6011 on the powercraft than on my ac welder
4. after using it practically the whole day and after about 1.5 kilos of rods, no overheat nor any problem so far (i guess the cool weather of Baguio helps a lot in the cooling of the machine)
5. not so much splatter (though this may be attributed to arc length, proper voltage, etc.)
6. verdict - so far so good... :agree:

Re: Powercraft PIW200 Review w/ pics

Very nice purchase bro amboy. Kaya lang gumastos ka pa para bilhin yan dito sa Manila eh, there is an industrial shop also in Baguio City the sells Powercraft machines, I just researched the machine and found this out, Carpentertrade Enterprise, Baguio City, Benguet. I just don't know the prices of their units.

Well I suppose to really know and learn its capabilities, I guess you will have to maximize its use with lots of tests on different welding electrodes, different metal thickness and different ampere setting, para bang break in sa machine, hehehe :naughty2:

Truly, using a DC Inverter machine is really very much different from the usual AC machine, DC machines are quieter, portable, produces soft start and deeper metal penetration and lots of savings on electric consumption plus can be just plugged to an ordinary household outlet, so enjoy your new toy bro amboy and hope to start seeing more metal projects soon. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Bro. Rosy yup enjoying the machine tremendously ๐Ÿ™‚ actually using it to fabricate restaurant seats for our resto business... well actually converting bench type seats to single type seats ill post pictures of this project. Im always in manila naman on the ave. Twice a month since my kid is studying there kaya no added cost naman on my trips to t. Alonzo ๐Ÿ™‚

So far the machine has gone thru about 3 kilos of welding rods without any hitch ๐Ÿ˜€

Hehe yup... the cool weather helped a lot ๐Ÿ˜€

Guys pansin ko lang when I was about to try welding on a thin square tube na electrode negative, when I switched the connector ayaw mag lock ng electrode terminal sa negative connector. However the ground terminal fits perfectly naman sa positive connector. Is this normal or aren't they supposed to be interchangeable?

Re: Powercraft PIW200 Review w/ pics

Bro bigla ka bang nagsisi

^hehe...di naman. mejo lang.haha..

talagang ganyan, may mga bagay na mapapasayo at meron namang hinde. very lucky pa rin ako kasi nakakabili pa rin ng gamit kahit papano just to feed my urge na magDIY ng mga bagay bagay.

A bit of OT here, if bro amboy will allow :

Mga Bros and to all members who purchased the YAMATO DC Inverter,

Please don't regret buying the YAMATO just because you see a better looking machine now. If I recall more than a year ago I made a survey for the ASEA brand of welding machine here in the forum, a survey to know who are those interested for a group buy of the said brand, after we had a welding EB at timber's shop with the introduction of the ASEA weld machine together with a sort of seminar with the owner himself explaining and promoting their units. But then in the survey, I just got a few handful of names listed, I guess it was suppose the price of the ASEA brand welder was a bit pricey for any newbie in arc welding that is why it never pushed through.

But how come when I pulled the trigger on the YAMATO DC weld machine, made an extensive review and weld application ( bead runs on test plates ), almost all interested in arc welding got so delighted and excited that they joined the Yamato survey I made. I guess it just boiled down to its very affordable price, the lowest in the market for a DC Inverter machine compared to the rest which are 10K and above for a 200 amp welder. :juggle:

Well more that a year have passed, na enjoy naman nating lahat yung quality ng Yamato and nobody was forced to buy a unit of the said brand. We enjoyed the assurance of the seller of the warranty and after sales service. So I guess the point here is that we simply wanted a cheap and affordable weld machine, so we all went and got the YAMATO brand. We will never know the real score or quality of any of the weld machines in the market now, whether cheap or expensive until we buy one and try to use it for ourselves and be satisfied by it. Well a very very few members bought an ASEA arc welder machine but never made a review of their new toys, so how will we know of their real quality ? Now if we want to upgrade our units, then that's just fine and healthy, ipon ipon lang tayo so we can buy a new and much better weld machine and take a chance. But mind you even the more expensive ones have lemons too. LOL ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Just my personal and honest opinion over a cup of coffee. :coffee:

Re: Powercraft PIW200 Review w/ pics

Bro amboy,

NO ILL FEELINGS AT ALL !!!

As a matter of fact we welcome here your full and extensive review of the POWERCRAFT so other members will have other alternatives and be educated. Please do continue sharing your thoughts and experience here with regards to your new toy, let us help others be educated with different brands of weld machines. We seldom get members reviewing their newly acquired weld machines here so please just keep on posting your results on the POWERCRAFT use. :groupwave:

I would just like to reiterate, I am not defending the YAMATO brand ha, and have no connection of whatsoever with EY Industrial Supply Inc.

CHEERS and STAY SAFE bro !!! ๐Ÿ˜‰
