Anyone knows a good and reliable brand of cut-off saw?

I've been through two (2) ES brand of cut-off saws ....... I believe ES is a sister-company of sorts of LG Korea.

The first one I was able to use for about 2 years, but then sparks came out of its armature. I didn't use this again and proceeded to but another one.

The second one lasted a little above a year, when it encountered the same sparks. I'll keep this one, repair it and keep this as spare.

For the meantime, I'll probably need to buy a new cut-off saw ........ any brand recommendations here?

AEG any good ? MAKTEC ?

I don't usually purchase AEG tools due bad experiences from its grinders, drills, etc. But if its cut-off is reliable among users here, I might try it.

TIA guys.

Sometimes a simple maintenance like checking the carbon brushes of your cut-off saw helps a lot, it prolongs the life of the machine if the brushes needs new replacement.

Reliable brands are Bosch, DeWalt and Makita plus their diy brothers I suppose. I'm using the DeWalt brand for more than 8 years now and very satisfied with it. Other metal workers here use also Bosch and Makita.

Well good luck in what ever brand you choose !!

Thank you for the remider, bro rosy.

I just checked the carbon brushes of my table and miter saws. Both still have more than 1.5cm of carbon left. I didn't check my routers because they're stowed away and don't see action as often as the other two. I hope I remember to check the next time I use them.

I have Maktec chop saw from Binondo. I seldom use it (maybe 4 times a year) but it still does the job after a couple of years.

Comparing the two brands, Maktec is good but I think mas maganda AEG Cut off Machine.

Thanks for the inputs guys ...... I was inclined to buy DEWALT, but was discouraged by a few fellows - they claim that DEWALT parts are very hard to come by and after-sales service is very poor.

BOSCH & MAKTEC were next in line, but my local suki store ran out of stocks ....... in the end, I chose MAXSELL from CW Depot.

Looks good so far, even comes with overload protection ....... hope this one lasts for a long time.

Congrats on your new toy but lets hope this MAXSELL brand doesn't or will not disappoint in the long run.
