Hello Sirs! Been lurking for a couple of days now and reading about the yamato dc welder. Just quick question: will this welder be enough to allow me to make good welds in making aquarium stands (which will hold heavy weight) using angle bars as frame, support, etc and pipes as legs? Of course given the fact that I get to learn and practice on how to make perfect welds. I'm planning to get one soon. Kanino pokaya ko pwede magpaturo sa inyo? 🙂 Thanks sirs!

HI there bro mudhutdesigns,

Yes this welder will just be perfect for your intended project but there are differences between producing welds (poop welds) and a good looking and decent welds to complete a metal fusion.

It would be best to practice first if ever you get a unit in the future, do some readings and exercises to be able to understand, produce decent weld puddles and good metal fusion. As bro JayL in his reply post, for starters, do some back reading on "Let's Practice Stick Welding Applications...............", understand the usage of different welding rods, the right amperage for each rods to be able to produce decent welds and so many more, then try to follow the exercises shown. Hope you get to learn somethings from this thread. 😉

I hope too that bro JayL can have the time if he will permit, just to show you for starters how to use this unit and how to apply good welds sa metal. Sya lang ang alam ko na mas malapit sa iyo since you are coming from Makati and Bro JayL's auto shop is somewhere in Pasay. HEHEHE, bro JayL, pardon me, hindi kita kinukumpromiso dito ha, it just entered my mind kasi sometimes its also kinda difficult for someone to follow the welding procedure in stills without seeing it in actuality. :p

Go go go ...

I can show some basic stick welding setups, safety tips and a few moves if someone nearer wants to come visit my shop. However be fore warned that I myself am not an accomplished stick welder as I only have a few hours of stick welding time under my belt. None the less I can reasonably join metals using this welding process.

Go go go ..... we want more metal workers ... this combined with some woodworking can produce a lot of projects for use in and out the house.

Why don't you try Rosy's supplier of Yamato DC Inverter? Aside from the good reviews by our fellow PHMers who bought the unit, their service warranty has already been proven. Ingat lang pagpunta mo doon sa store. Remember, suka lang and bibilhin mo hindi adobo. Yan lagi and habilin ng SWMBO ko.:rolleyes::D:rofl:

Thanks for the wuick and short answer to my question. Yep, i've been reading sir rosy's threads for a couple of days na.

My first Yamato DC welder was acquired by my brother-in-law for use in his metal works business. Due to the welder's portability its the one they use for installing steel windows, grilles and gates at the customer premises.

If the Yamato DC welder can do that then no doubt it will serve you well in your aquarium stand project.
