actually bibili din uli ako ng welding machine, i.e. kapag may malaki laking budget na. yung 300 ac welder nila kung sakali pang backup lang sa dc yamato. pinagiipunan ko pa kasi jigsaw para sa isang class project.

AHHH OK, EY Industrial Supply Inc stocks of portable Yamato ac welders are really cheap, prices won't even reach 5K. The 300 amp AC welder is I think 4K for the 300 amps AC and 3,700k for the 200 amp AC . These are their new sale prices !!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes:

Ok,i dont knwo if you guys remember my post before of when i bought my first yamato dc welding machine, same week i purchased it it broke, now i had it repaired, instead they sent me a replacement unit, so kind of them, now i have not abused this unit and the unit has seen small works since being replaced. This afternoon i decided to use it after months of storage, i was able to finish one welding rod of the small thin kind, then my machine broke again. 2 machines, same rating, same brand same outcome, both dead. Im wondering now, this machine is a lemon. When i sent my first unit for repair they asked me how it was used, they told me that every two sticks the machine should be let to rest to cool down, 2 sticks, and that it shouldnt be used for full weld as it is not for heavy duty use.

So whenthey replaced it, it was treated like a baby, hence the use of thinner sticks, and it still gets to have that rest after two sticks, so i thought, this one would last me a long time. I was wrong, a lemon, no matter how you treat it will always be a lemon.

I should have shaved more and just bought a more expensive unit. The one they sell in caloocan.

Now i know what il be saving for next, im not having this one repaired as i honestly believe its just a waste of time and money. Il cut my loss while its still small

Hi bro Ernie.

I will not blame you for feeling that way on your machine, its really very frustrating for one to have a machine that would always konks out specially during welding sessions, GRRRRRR, hehehe, naka kapika talaga. But then I have mentioned before in my previous posts that this is not for heavy duty use and that its good mostly as an entry level machine specially for those who are starting to learn how to stick weld. Considering the fact that it is the cheapest DC Inverter available in the market now. Plus of course the assurance of after sales service given to us PHM members. :agree:

Why don't you call Joseph S or Rhen of EY Industrial Supply and air your concerns. Actually it is still under the warranty period since I saw from your earlier post before that your purchase of the said YAMATO machine was last March 6 of this year so you still have until the end this September to avail of that warranty. Why not give it another chance to have it fixed, sayang kasi yuong warranty.

Well being just an entry level machine for us, the next time we buy or do an upgrade, we are free to choose or select other brands, but still it will be a gamble unless that brand we will purchase will have very good reviews by others or proof of its quality in terms of usage. I am not defending the YAMATO brand here but when I purchased it more than a year ago, I myself took a chance on it since my budget for a new DC welder was only up to 6K. There were no reviews of it or anyone attesting of its quality, but it turned out quiet ok for me after more than a year of use. 😉

Well I myself would be buying soon a new DC INVERTER stick machine, a different brand with a higher amperage requirement, an upgrade from the existing weld machine, I know its gonna be more expensive but that's how it is, but still be taking a chance on the brand since I haven't seen any good reviews of it in the net. Its always the seller who would eventually say their products are good or superb in quality. :rolleyes:

Anyway these are just my personal and honest opinion.

sad to hear that sir ernie. frustrating nga iyan lalu nat alagang alaga pa naman. take advantage nyo na lang muna yung warranty habang mayron pa...yung akin din more than one month ko na hindi nagamit. knock on wood, sana hindi mangyari yan sakin..

baka nagtampo nung hindi nagamit yan. something to do siguro with its break in or burn in period. kelangan siguro regularly used.

ang habol ko lang sakin makagawa ako ng metal projects na ang worth ay equal sa ininvest ko. and im not expecting it to perform with the high end brands.

Why not have it repaired again (free under warranty) then sell the unit?

Well I suppose I will pass on this now, recommending any brand of DC Inverter welding machine that will fall under the 10K or so plus range in replacement of the YAMATO weld machine. I will leave it to you guys to do your own research in the net particularly sulit.com. There are several/various brands now available in the market that you can choose from and decide what you think is worth investing on.

Hmmm...looks like there are some bad ones out there. But probably not common.

My Yamato's still going strong.

Just finished a whole bunch of racks and a a worktable. Will post photos later. Used the Yamato straight through for a number of days. No problem. Talaga lang masagwa ako mag-welding.:D
