I'm planning to upgrade my welder, I have big projects on the line that will need robust but portable welder. my old yamato 200 inverter welder and powercraft adh are still doing fine but I am really careful in observing the 25% duty cycle. I'm thinking of hitronic but the yamato 300 amps is much cheaper I just don't know if its is really heavy duty as posted at goldpeaktools, any experience with this unit?
Have no experience with the Yamato 300 amp IGBT welder. What I have is the HiTronic 300 amp IGBT welder, rated at 60% duty cycle, portable and really heavy duty. The Yamato 300 amp inverter machine has only a 25% duty cycle, which I think is inadequate for a 300 amp inverter machine.
May I suggest you get the HiTronic, mas sigurado, you can weld continuosly without any worries of the machine stopping. If the 300 amp is to expensive for you, then get the 250 amp IGBT machine. Manufactured by RILAND, also makers of Rilon welding machines. You won't regret getting the HiTronic machine.
But if you insist on the Yamato because its cheaper, then by all means go for it, still you will be watching again carefully the 25% duty cycle.
