thanks bro Rosy 🙂

Will a 200A Tig welder suffice?i saw some welder with Tig and MMA capabilities but did not see with AC/DC variant, can ypu pls shed a light on how important is AC/DC?.... ill try to check with Mr. Google also

btw , ano ba ginagawa ng mga machine shops if they build up aluminum parts?i dont see them using Tig/Mig but pinababaga nila yung pinak body then me tintunaw na aluminum material para pang build up?

i dont know if alin ang mas maibay yung ganung process or yung Tig wled build up?

thanks po uli

Actually bro you can also use a MIG welder provided its a spool gun ready machine like Miller or Lincoln brands of mig welders. There is a separate spool gun to be attached to the machine and inside the gun is a spool or reel of aluminum wires.

Now for a TIG machine/welder, like I said an AC/DC is the one to choose. For aluminum welding you use the AC frequency and for mild steel and stainless steel, its the DC frequency using argon gas. 200 amps for a tig machine will be enough for your purpose.

There are a lot of TIG machines being sold in the local market but they are usually for DC only. Another is DC stick welders with TIG function, usually these are only lift tig or scratch tig for mild steel or stainless steel.

RILON and HiTronic brands sells AC/DC TIG machines. Check out Goldpeak Tools and Hardware and ask coolmaxheric for the HiTronic AC/DC Tig machine. :agree:

Hope this helps ! :chopper:

Guys, I am thinking of buying another welding machine to complement my old (more than 10 yrs) Yamato portable arc welder (non-inverter).

My purpose to be able to weld thin metal sheets and tubes which my current machine cannot do without burning a hole.

What came to my mind is gasless MIG but after some googling I am a bit confused especially with the quoted posts below.

Now, I am considering Inverter Arc Welder too especially something that can have as low as 25 or 30 amps setting.

Any suggestion? Should I go with Inverter or Flux-cored (gasless) MIG considering thin metal welding as my purpose?

(I am an occasional welder so gas MIG is out of the question because hindi ito masusulit.)

Thanks!

Re: MIG Welder Buyers Guide, Part 1

If I'm going to be using gas less Mig welding then I'll just buy a Stick welder.

For gas Mig welding ... now this is a different story. Slag free welding is great.

i'm no expert but fluxcore aka "gasless" does have its uses especially for a guy like me who welds like every 2 months 😀 no gas to worry about. works great outdoors on a windy day. no gas tanks to transport. etc

i've done a few projects w/ it and i'm satisfied w/ the results. the important thing is to get a good fluxcore wire. i've tried 3 different brands before i got the results that i wanted.

Bro, problem with arc welding ( STICK welding ) is that its hard to use on thin materials even though you are using a 3/32 " welding electrode, better yet to make things easier for you is to get a fluxcored machine, you will use thinner spool wires which I think you can easily play with and find what settings
will fit your need. POWERHOUSE fluxcored machines might be what you are looking for, ang dami sa market ngayon.

Suggestion lang brad !

Salamat sir rosy.

May experience ka ba sa flux cored? I've been reading and watching about it sa internet and spatter seems to be problem. Tama ba or same lang ang spatter as with arc welding.

BTW, kaya bigla ko na-consider yung flux core is dahil nga s Powerhouse machine. --> Any chance na may nagsabi sa iyo about its durability?

Thanks!

Bro, I use a Mig welder with shielding gas and spatters are very minimal to almost none.
Using the fluxcored, spatters are like using a stick machine except that it is good for
thin materials since ang gamit ay a spool of wire at hinde welding electrode.

I have no idea about the Powerhouse quality or durability but according to the distributor
of this machine ay good quality naman at US made daw. That is what I gathered from the
recent Welder Group of the Philippines recent general assembly last December where
Powerhouse was one of the sponsors, nag pa raffle nga sila ng ilang units for the WGP
members.
