Re: MIG Welding From Absolute Zero Experience (From Zero to MIG)
This time I'll try welding together some metals.
I know it's kinda ambitious at this point since it's just my second time to practice welding.
But I guess it's worth the try, just for the experience. Maybe I'll learn a thing or two in the process.
First weld run
Wire brushed
Second run
2nd run wire brushed
Re: MIG Welding From Absolute Zero Experience (From Zero to MIG)
Third run
3rd run wire brushed
Here's the whole piece with the 3 weld runs
Just for kicks I made a continuous weld over the weld joints
Re: MIG Welding From Absolute Zero Experience (From Zero to MIG)
Here's another try at a new workpiece. But this time with a lower voltage and wire speed settings.
Re: MIG Welding From Absolute Zero Experience (From Zero to MIG)
Oh well... I guess there will be more practice to come...
Till next practice...:)
Re: MIG Welding From Absolute Zero Experience (From Zero to MIG)

Thanks for the advice sir bugel. I'll do that on my next practice.
I realized that learning how to weld takes a lot of practice to develop the skill.
Very challenging, but I really enjoy the process. I find it very relaxing after a long week of stress from the office.
And of course, it feels very reassuring to know that experts are watching over your progress and unselfishly sharing their piece of experience. :thanks:

Yes bro, to be able to get it right depositing good weld beads or puddle, it will take lots and lots of
practice, practice and more practice to develop that skills whether in stick process, Tig process or
in the Mig process. Additional trait as well is patience and the will to learn.
For a beginner doing Mig, you are doing fine, just have to keep your hand steady pulling the welds
that is if you are doing gas less applications but then if you are using a shielding gas, I guess the push technique is the right approach.
Just a reminder, its best that your metal stocks are always clean, no rust, oil or dirt to be able to
successfully make a nice and decent weld deposits.
CHEERS, good luck and stay safe while practicing !! :goodluck:;)

Gamit nila is Miller MIG welding machine ( http://www.swiftcoindustrialsupply.com/html/miller_mig_welders_10.html ). First day ko nagstart ako sa tacking lang ng mga components then pag break namin hahanap ako scrap practice ako ng full weld. then on sa third day ko lipat na ako station, sa full weld station na ako. same basics lang ginamit ko na natutunan ko sa stick welding. actually karamihan ng welder sa company na yun di marunong mag stick weld. sabi ko kung marunong ka mag stick weld napakadali lang ng MIG process.
Re: MIG Welding From Absolute Zero Experience (From Zero to MIG)
Nice welds..by the way dont forget the polarity of your wires. Reverse for gasless and straight for gas. Compensate your wire speed by the size and type of wire. If it sticks add more speed, if it pops slow it down. For your kind of machine everything is manual unlike millers and lincolns that has circuits that adjusts it automatically. Not mentioning a cleaner output voltage which make more stable to weld with. But dont you worry, practice will surely get you on par with those machines at a fraction of the cost. Kailangan lang talagang magsunog ng kilay to get there..literally hehe
