After a long wait I finally got the stuff I would need to start studying how to MIG Weld. Enough to start a basic to intermediate course. I'll just post groups shots first and do a review along the way. There are still some things needed to be acquired like Argon/CO2 Gas plus the necessary electrical connectors and of course Metal.

The welder looks bigger and heavier in actual than as seen on pics.

I got around 8 kg of welding wire which I hope when finished will take my welding skills pass the newbie stage.

The Smith Regulator is good only for Argon or Argon/CO2 mix. It can't be used with pure CO2. I have not known this previously so now I would need to get a flow meter suitable for CO2 later. CO2 gas is cheaper but of course will give a different welding characteristic.

I need a NEMA ( National Electrical Manufacturers Association ) rated 6-50R outlet on at least a 30A breaker to fire up this Mig Welder.

The crappy Miller provided ground clamp will be replaced with a Tweco GC-300.

On Quick Disconnect Connectors (QDC ) . The reason for QDC is because I want to have 3 types of ground clamps that I can easily connect to the Mig Welder. The other two will be a Lenco Style Clamp or probably Vise Grip type Ground Clamp and a Magnetic Ground Clamp for flat surfaces.

I will need more cables to do this. Likewise having QDC means I can rotate ground clamps between the Mig and Stick welder depending on application.

Thanks Timb. Matapos ang excitement ng waiting eto ang dami pang requirement and study material. Napa subo yata ako sa MIG ah .... LOL . Kung Miller Stick kinuha ko kanina pa ko nag wewelding. :sweat:

Trying to put all the pieces together now but it's not as easy as I had expected.

The gas I was able to procure today.

5K for Refundable Tank Deposit and 1.5K for Arco Gas ( 75% Argon / 25% CO2 ). I took the biggest tank available at Atgas Traders.

If I paint the tank then it's considered sold rather than loaned.

The problem I run across is electrical connectors. I went back and forth T. Alonzo St. and found no NEMA 6-50R Receptacle . If only I knew then I could have easily ordered this with the welder.

I can cut off the OEM plug and replace it but I'm concerned my warranty will be void. I'm not so sure yet but I believe Miller gives 3 years warranty.

Anybody can help and point me to an electrical store selling these NEMA 6-50R. I have not check RS Components yet and I hope they do have this.
