The cart is for our store and I just borrowed it temporarily. It is of good build and the sheets are thick enough for it to be sturdy. The caster looks ok too. Viking products seems to be of reasonable quality. Thinking about their tall carrier which can probably be converted to an Oxygen Acetylene tank cart.

I'm not sure how much they paid for it. 1.5K maybe ???

The corner rubber bumps are included already.

I have not really used it before but now that I have I really do like it. It is not a flimsy cart.

Wanted to rush up things and to find out if the welder is working or not thus I conducted the mandatory dry run test.

This welder will not be convenient to use on the floor. A welding cart and a welding table will make a big difference in work output.

It came with a metal thickness gauge to help manually set voltage and wire feed. For now I'm using auto set features. Our under sized metals don't conform with the thickness gauge. LOL

This is something I did not prepare in advance ... practice metal pieces. Just did a quick metal cleanup for the test pieces.

No fine tuning. Just pull the gun the first time in order to verify if the welder operates. Whew ... second concern solved.

No slag at all and very minimal spatter. No major clean up necessary unlike in stick welding.

It was warm so I had the electric fan working to cool me off a bit while testing. I forgot I was working with shielding gas. Don't know if it affected the test beads. The welder sound it emanates is like frying bacon.

For now I'm happy that all is in order and the welder is working as expected. Tinkering will come later.

Looks like I got used to stick welding. MIG might just need a faster travel time. Metal deposit here is more than I wanted but did not correct settings anymore.

Come in too hot and you burn a hole just like in stick.

Too much stuff to digest in one sitting. For now my goal of getting clean welds is almost there. Gas welding makes a big difference in this aspect.

Thanks Jarod. It was at least a relief. Being 7,000+ miles away from Miller USA does have it's concerns.

Next would be to prepare lots of test pieces and study the welder capabilities and tuning. After the study then I can start thinking of building the cart.

Classroom / Lab type learning setup makes it easier to learn than when doing actual WIPS. The focus here for me will be the MIG welding process itself and the machine only.
