Since you both have worked in a metal sheet company..im pretty sure you have friends in your company's purchasing department. When i was working as plant manager in packaging and food manufacturing company then, i used to befriend all purchasing personnel specially the purchaser and runner who directly contact suppliers. When i need something she can supply me every materials i need for personal or company use. Purchaser also knows how to haggle and you can get the lowest possible for anything related to company.s supplies. Although finding ads suppliers online is ok, you will not get the VIP treatment and prices given to a purchaser. Ask first your friend in the purchasing department and his her recommendation. Trust me they know everything..
If that doesnt work , im pretty sure experts here in metal working could help you..Cheers

thanks a lot for the reply. we have the contact details na for Westmont. they are giving us the price of GI 1.4mm thickness @P1,400/sheet. another order just came in and by tomorrow we shud be inquiring on the BI 2.3mm thickness. yeah ur advice is right, unfortunately its not gonna work for us, bec the company where we came from has a new purchasing officer. and we had to figure the hard way. lol, bec they do not have any details to be found either sulit or google... on the equipment side, former employer cant also help us bec they are using CNC machines already(imported ones) and its way far from the small start we are getting. the past days we were looking around and found this Korean (Inverter) made; plasma cutter called asea71p @P49500, compressor(3.5hp) @P24500, arch welding machine @P10800, Makita grinder @P4000, manual bender(separate supplier) 8feet up to 2mm thickness bending capacity @P170000... the shearing will temporarily be outsourced... hope to find one soon.

most of the time our orders are made of sheets ranging from 1.5mm - 2mm... the 2.3mm thickness is a very rare order(bdw the 2.3mm thickness is for cable tray supports). we actually hope that we are getting the right specs of equipments based on the thickness range we are anticipating to do.

what I am afraid of is that I might be buying over specd tools. as I have said, we will be cutting up to 2mm only, or say up to 2.3mm maxx. im afraid of the electricity consumption kasi... the sales persons who were doing the demo and stuff, ofcourse tells us na ok yung mga un. but infact ung plama nya cuts 10mm pataas, which is over rated sa aming up to 2.3mm thickness. also, if the plasma compressor is over specd also for 3.5hp(???) well I really cudnt argue well sa binilhan naming. all they say is, its the best. hehe... kakapit nalang ako maige sa upuan ko while waiting for the meralco bills...

Yes, that Korean made machines called ASEA71P is a good brand too, we( PHM WELDING BOYS ) had a welding seminar last year with the owner and distributor of ASEA welding products and the machines the owner brought were really something. We were convinced that there machines were good and well made particularly the Arc/Tig welder and the Plasma cutting machine 71P. Problem was that its too expensive for us specially for those who were just starting to learn how to weld, LOL. But.......of course them machines are good and robust, congrats on your right choice.

Perhaps you can check Toolec Inc., somewhere in Libis, fronting Eastwood City for additional shearing tools and other welding machines. IMHO, its better to have some over specs tools than getting those under specs, you will never know when the time comes that you will need something heavy duty for your client's orders.

Another supplier of good welding machines is TOPPHAND, distributor of RILON welding machines, their Mig and Tig machines are good, I have read their specs plus some testimonials from a friend licensed welder who have used these machines in the company where he is working now. If I were you I will buy the inverter machines for Mig and Tig machines, IGBT Inverters have been proven to be "matipid sa kuryente"

Yeah, I think so too that this YAMATO 200amps DC Inverter is just a light duty welder, good enough as an entry level for lots of new welders here in the forum. You can try it or target the RILON 250 amps DC Inveter, good enough for light and heavy duty applications. Yes I guess the 300 amps welder maybe to much for your needs since you will not be welding thick and solid metals, I think !!

Anyway, its also a dream of mine to have a small fabrication shop someday and saving up too for a Mig and a Tig and perhaps a good plasma cutter as well. But basically use them for my art applications.

what we are having difficulty about is finding a powerpress, last minute, my supplier said he is out of 10tonners. I found another prospect supplier but is selling it x2 of the price where as they have d same specs and both second hand. ito nalang ang kulang ko for my initial operations. I hope I cud get tips as well for the power press. infact we cud only be needing about 5tons only(for max 2.5mm thickness)... over spec na naman ako sa 10tons(ang kuryente ko na naman...) haha!

IGBT Inverter..................Insulated Gate Bi-polar Transistor, is a three terminal power semiconductor device used primarily for high efficiency and fast switching. A device used for DC welding machines to make it more efficient and energy saving machines.

With regards to power press, wow !! they are not cheap ha ? Have you seen this seller sa sulit ?

Asking price is 3,500K per ton and his smallest is 10 ton. He is selling 3 units, 25 ton, 15 ton and 10 ton.

thanks sa info anb TOPPHAND 🙂 i have just bought their arc and plasma. their plasma is way cheaper than Asea71. i got it at 20k only. light duty, 40amps. they also recommended the 1hp compressor at only 12k+... nice info. our fabrication is now operating and slowly but surely catching up. i just had a last minute problem with my supposed power press supplier. hindi pala working condition. hope anyone frm ds group could help recommend a supplier if any. ten tonner will do 🙂

nice, will contact na that supplier u found. yeah medyo mahal nga, pero kesa wala... yung isa kasing kausap namin is selling 20tonner @2k only... but its over spec msyado para samin. mga butas lang kasi ng provision sa bolts ang bubutasan eh. around 9.5mm diameter.
hubby is having a tough time using mga portable and manuals. nasa lay outs pa din kami til today. para by tom or d next days tabas na ng tabas. hehe sanay kasi sya sa CNC pero ganun tlga, setting up ur own on a limited fund shud really mean going thru a needle,just to have one running.
may subcon kami ng cut to size, Php 30 kada bagsak... anlalayo pa ng areas nila. so ayun naman ang pinagkakaabalahan ko. sana may makita kaming closer sa Pque... 🙁 whew i never tot its this tidious. haha!

u guys have EB pala here? i think i read potlock.
