Re: Air compressors

im planning to buy i saw this at sulit can any one help me understand the specs

Voltage: 220VAC, 60Hz

Motor Speed: 5500RPM

Max Pressure: 100PSI

Flow Rate: 20 L/Min @ 90psi

Rated Input: 176watts

Duty cycle: 100%

is this enough to do ducco? and cleaning power tools?

also it does not idicate how many HP how can i identify how may hp ?

The wattage rating is approx equivalent to 1/4Hp. It is a small compressor so I dont think you can use it for power tools cleaning for a sustained period. my 2cnts

Re: Air compressors

Just bought this today P6K. Slightly used Vespa 1HP from a dentist who is replacing it to a much quieter one. She was being complained in the condominium unit. This will be my main unit and will replace an Air Trade Brand from HMR and a 1/4HP Vespa.

I was baffled when a hose was connected on the drain plug. When I removed it the drainplug was replaced by a hose connector. I was thinking that this was done to connect a water separator/filter and as an outlet. That way she wouldn't be maintaining to drain the unit regularly and instead just the water separator/filter alone. May I ask if this is advisable and much better than connecting the water separator/filter in the original outlet (last image)? I'm planning to get a water separator/filter in the future. TIA

Re: Air compressors

Looks good except for the missing belt guard.

As for the drain I'll just install the same shut off valve as installed in the top ( w/ red handle ) .. it is the same size fitting as the drain. If it turns out to be long then you could remove the valve threads on the output side to make it shorter. This way you can easily drain the compressor.

Re: Air compressors

Wow that was quick bro. Thank you. There's a screen guard. It was removed because i made a general cleaning on the unit. I'll check the posts.

Congrats! You got an original Taiwan made Vespa w/c is very good. Restore the drain plug to its original function. You will really have to drain manually to check also if there is oil mixing in the tank not just rusted water. This will caution you if the heads or piston rings are starting to show wear. For the air outlet valve install a suitable air & water separator with a regulator before connecting to the hose to get clean air to the gun.

Re: Air compressors

On the other hand, you may use the current drain host valve in your advantage. You can put a 150psi clear hose connected to another valve, in that way you can take away the water from the tank and you can see if you need to drain since the hose is clear. what do you think?

Thanks Bro, that's an excellent suggestion too. That way i can also redirect the drain somewhere else where it won't mess my flooring and my hands. Thank you.

Re: Air compressors

Pa-hijack ng thread.
----

I will be taking the plunge and get myself a 2HP Vespa.

This came about because I am having difficulty strip planking my boat as I get to the more curvy part. My system of straps just requires too much effort already. So I ordered some plastic nails and a special pneumatic nail gun for it. Plastic nails are recommended for boats since they will not rust.

Now back to the Vespa.

Nailing requires little HP but, I thought, may as well get something that can multipurpose into painting. Read the threads on air compressors and some mods.

I plan to get it from Industrial Supply 143, same dealer where many of us got the Yamato welding machines last year.

Since I am a complete newbie when it comes to compressors, any tips on how I can quickly get started? Are there any required adjustments or mods on the get-go? Or would Vespa be, upon purchase, plug and play?

Re: Air compressors

GO GO GO Bro Ding, good decision/choice on where to get your original VESPA compressor, of course direct from the importer himself, Industrialsupply143. Better call first Ms Mimi to point you to their new warehouse address along Araneta Ave. which is the street behind BPI bank.

Their VESPA compressors are priced way much cheaper than ordinary hardware stores, home depots or mall hardwares, I have compared prices already before and Industrialsupply143 is above them all the cheapest. :2thumbsup: Baka maka discount ka pa !! :barmy: :naughty2:

Once you get your compressor I think you can start practicing immediately or when you have the free time as long as you have the air hose, air gun sprayer, paint , thinner and cleaner. And along the way you can buy an air/water separator, aaaaahhhhhhhhh, what else, hhhmmm, better consult bro JayL for some other necessary attachments, or read the threads regarding air compressors. ;):)

Re: Air compressors

Yeah get the compressor first then from there you can decide how to set it up.

I'm not sure if Mimi sells hoses and Filter / Water Separators.

Panda or LYS Hardware sells Acme and Milton quick disconnect respectively. Just be aware that there are a lot of quick disconnect standards and brands. It's best to stick with Milton or Acme.

A lot of info on air compressors documented here ...
