Re: Air compressors

Let it charge as much as it has to. At least mine I tried it continuously without any issues. I had suspected long ago that it has a 100% duty cycle.

In more simpler terms, sir, what does 100% duty cycle means? Does that mean I can use it for long as long as I allow it to recharge until it's full before I use it again?

How about my inquiry on the extension cord, sir?

Thank you.

100% duty cycle means the compressor can run continuously if needed.

"My question is, how much time should I allow the compressor to rest before it should start recharging?"

Zero time ... no rest needed.

For your extension cord I reckon 14 ga would be just fine.

The Vespa 2 HP is same size as the 1 HP model. If I knew before hand I would have suggested you get the 2 HP model because it charges much faster than the 1 HP. It would have been more appropriate for your tool and would fit your mobility issue as well.

Thank you so much again for the response, sir JayL. Now I know That I can run my compressor continuously.

Time to look for a 14 ga extension cord now. I only have a 10-meter 16-gauge extension cord which was initially dedicated for my dual-action polisher. It gets kinda warm when used continuously that's why I asked.

You are right with the 2HP model, sir JayL. Adding 2.5k would have given me more power. Anyway, I think it's possible upgrade a compressor's engine (for the lack of a better word). I might so when I really need to. I should have known that both were just the same. My bad...

Re: Air compressors

14 ga would be the minimum I'll get if it was me. 12 ga if you find one would be better too. Check out the price difference and then make the decision.

Good luck hunting.

Re: Air compressors

I'm still searching for 14 ga or 12 ga... I'm finding a hard time looking for one because some electrical shop only sells those "by order". They said that they can't keep a lot in their inventory because the turnover is really slow. In fact, I'm the only individual who inquired from them. Most of the time, electric cooperatives are the one placing orders. 🙁

I might try my luck in Manila when I get the chance. The question is where in Manila can I find it?

Re: Air compressors

gage 12 na lang ang kunin nyo sir na stranded. much safer. maaari nyo rin kasi gamitin ang gage 12 for a 200A dc welder. tsaka bakit wala dun sa shop na pinagtanungan nyo e kadalassan gage 12 ang ginagamit sa outlet at gage 14 naman sa lights.

sa outlet naman, i would choose panasonic. pwede rin yung anam. mas matingkad kasi ang tanso nung panasonic which i assume mas pure ang copper content nya over the anam. yung national mura kaso di ganong ka beefy ang copper nya compared to panasonic or anam.

kung binondo area kayo sir e sa soler st. ata yung mga electrical shops. meron din sa alonzo st.

Re: Air compressors

Vespa Oil Type Compressors ( Belt Driven )
- 88 Liters Tank Capacity

1 HP - 9,600 pesos
2 HP - got one last 5 months for 12,600 pesos

Thanks for this tip, I was able to buy a 1 HP at Best Achievers for 9,400! Can't believe it is cheaper than what it was 4 years ago. I hope this is genuine though- it has a made in Taiwan badge:).

I was actually in the market for a 1/2 HP only because my budget was only 9,000, and the average price for a 1/2 HP when I canvassed was around that.

Here are the prices that I gathered and the price disparity puzzles me:

Best Achievers
1/2 HP 8,700
1 HP 9,400

EY Industrial T. Alonzo
1 HP 11,250

EY Industrial Araneta
1/2 HP 9,200
1 HP 12,000

EY Industrial Sulit.com (Joseph)
1/2 HP 8,200
1 HP 10,500

Re: Air compressors

Good day gurus..

I just had a "bagong-luma" direct couple compressor. I noticed from its online manual though that it needs this air filter (shown in the image). Anyone who's got any idea where to buy this?

Thanks!

Re: Air compressors

I don't know if it's brand specific, but I saw some at Han's Tools Pioneer.
