Re: all about Air Compressors

cloydr,

So you finally got the PowerCraft 3 HP compressor, very nice, got yourself a jackpot there bro.
Nakaka inggit naman yan, anyway congrats for the new comp.

I suppose that will be greatly enough for so many things you can do with that 3 HP.

CHEERS and congrats again !!:groupwave::2thumbsup:

Re: all about Air Compressors

The specs seemed barely above a good quality 2hp compressor. I doubt you can power airtools with it, it might be the minimum for a high cfm spraygun though.

Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

The price is very good though, just know its capabilities before you go buying some air tools.

Re: all about Air Compressors

Sir Rosy, thanks! Can't test the full potential of the machine yet. Bibili pa ako ng mga attachments as per recommendation of this thread.

Sir Bigfoot2 you are right. Sometimes China made products have specs that is too good to be true. Only during actual usage will it be proven if it's true.

Re: all about Air Compressors

Update on my Power Craft purchase

I got the unit today. Got it for 16.5k last price. It came with a free T-shirt, warranty card and manual.

Here are some pics of the compressor.

The unit stands around 4 feet. Consumes less space.

Two air outlet, each with a gauge. A quick coupler on the left controlled by an air regulator in the middle and a standard air cock on the right.

Warning label, product model number and specifications.

Close up view of the air filter assembly

Hi, newly registered member here... Please see my introduction thread.

I think this was a good deal! So good in fact that I contacted the distributor to see if I could get the exact same deal. Unfortunately, it seems that whoever sold you this compressor might have made a mistake due to the label. Your unit is marked as H instead of V - which they said would cost 18K where the H model goes for 16.2K....

That's the explanation I got anyway when they couldn't match the price you got.

So, that caused me to pause on the purchase and reconsider. Also thinking of just getting the 4hp model which should be more than enough for any future needs I can come up with for when I actually build a bigger house and have room for an actual workshop.

Anyway guys my question is as follows: It seems that the Vespas top out at 2HP and 88L. Do we have any other options in the 3-5HP range with larger tanks aside from these Powercraft units?

Would really appreciate a point in the right direction!

Vespa has bigger compressor above 2 HP. I think a member here purchased one. Was it 5 HP? I can't find the post.

Hi, thanks for the input... hadn't read through this whole thread yet when I posted that.

Apparently, there was a sale a while back on 3HP Vespas for 34-36K. Couldn't find any specs though.
That price is quite high already compared to the Powercraft 4HP at 28K I was quoted.

Couldn't find any info doing a search on a 5HP Vespa.... but i'm pretty sure that the price would blow my mind....hehe.

Guess I should call the Vespa distributor tomorrow then... it is E Y Industrial, right?

Re: all about Air Compressors

Hi everyone.

I'm very new to this forum since I only found it while googling for Vespa Air Compressors.

Haven't read the 33 page thead yet, managed to read about 12 pages.

Was about to buy today a Project Air 2HP Direct Drive Compressor with 24L Tank since the seller was selling it for only 3,700 but a friend reminded me yesterday about the wattage of a compressor so I was kinda iffy about getting it but since the deal was made, I was actually willing to get it anyway until the seller informed me that he will not be available on the time we agreed upon so I took that chance to cancel the deal and look towards getting a 1/4 HP Vespa Compressor.

I'll be simply using it for airbrushing model kits and the 1/4 HP with 36L Tank is the closest one I can afford for now. Much like the others here, I'd like to know what to look for a vespa compressor.

Although my main problem is how would I even manage to bring ot home since I'll be just commuting.

Help, tips and info's would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: all about Air Compressors

Well bro in buying a VESPA Air Compressor, make sure you got it from a very reliable source, meaning a shop or store that can give an after sales service warranty in case the unit you purchased malfunctions. Most members here do get their VESPA air compressors in Binondo area or I can give you a very good supplier somewhere in Araneta Ave in QC. Its E.Y. Industrial Sales Inc. They are direct importers of YAMATO welders and the VESPA air compressors and other industrial tools and machineries. You may get in touch with JosephS first, sales person, so you can discuss what you intend to purchase. You might even get a discount by saying you are a member of the PHM community.

Here is their Warehouse/Service Center:
109-A Kapiligan St. Araneta Ave., Quezon City
Tels # 416-1334 ~~~ 559-5112 ~~~ 559-5113

Well bro I don't see any problem in transporting your purchased compressor since the 1/4HP or 1/2HP are not really that big even though its placed inside a box, you can just get a taxi, place the purchased unit in the passenger sit area, you in front and that's it your good to go.

Well I do have a 2 HP Vespa direct drive air compressor which I use for mainly inflating my tires and air brushing and I know the tank of this type is a bit shorter than the 1/4 HP or 1/2 HP. Just and added info here !

CHEERS and GOOD LUCK bro !!!:thumbup:

Re: all about Air Compressors

Got my 1/4 HP Vespa Air Compressor at FilAm Hardware sa Festival Mall in Alabang since yun ang pinaka-malapit na mabibilhan ko ng compressor.

Bought it for 4,800 Pesos.

I was quite disappointed with the shop since the unit I bought and all of the units they sell do not come with the original box and the manuals/documentations like what I've seen in most pics of the same item sold online. And they only give 1 month service warranty when other shops give atleast 3-6months service warranty.

I could've live with it pero when I got home, when I was setting up the air filter, air was leaking from the main outlet of the compressor (yung air line sa ilalim ng pressure switch) so I tried tightening this screw cap pero isang pihit pa lang basag na agad. Tried to find a replacement from handyman and ace but I found no replacement. Gotta go back to the shop where I bought the compressor for replacement so I can start painting.

Re: all about Air Compressors

Well bro I do hope you get to fix/replace your compressor so you can start doing your painting process on your Gundam collections and others.

I do not know if I should say congrats for your new purchase or what, since you said you were kinda disappointed with the shop and the quality of their merchandise. By the way, didn't you test the compressor in the shop to see if there is anything wrong or whatever before hauling it to your place ? Just curious here.

Anyway, cheer up, it'll be Christmas in a few hours, don't let that compressor destroy your fan and excitement, I know it will be fixed soon.

CHEERS ! and :xmas1:

Re: all about Air Compressors

Went there earlier and the clerks there are kind enough to replace the crappy fittings that broke to a brand new brass ones then went home. When I was fitting the air filter's connection to the air valve of the compressor, there is still a massive air leak coming out. I inspected where the leak was coming from and found a crack underneath the valve. Will go back again tonight for a replacement as I really want to start painting my kits as soon as the compressor is up and running.
