Re: all about Air Compressors

the engine nameplate

Nameplate seems to indicate its a 3 phase motor, not for house hold use...

Dalandanan, Valenzuela.
Along MacArthur Hway. There are about 5 of these shops on around 1 km stretch.

I actually asked about it. They said 3phase is better if i will have a choice. (hmm. im thinking of getting a rotary converter - which is around 3k - also among the shops in that area)
Since these are heavy duty machines. They usually assume that it is for industrial use. If you want to use it for hobby, they can change the motor to single phase for a 220v feed in your house.

@BenQ

Bro thanks for sharing.

Did you get chance to hear the compressors power up and run? How's the noise level and charge time?

Thanks,

Jay

Re: all about Air Compressors

- is PSI related to CFM?
- when a compressor specs says something about xx hp, is that the compressor or the motor?
- what's the impact of swapping components between compressors?
-- same compressor, but swap to a larger motor
-- same motor, but swap to a larger compressor

just thought of it... washing machine motor? 😛

Re: all about Air Compressors

i am planning to get a 2.5HP direct drive air compressor worth 14K...it is well built.

pero what's the main difference ba sa belt driven type?

i am planning to use this compressor for house wall painting.

id like to make use of acrylic paints (siliconized) like davies rain and shine and the like.

wondering if the gun and the compressor can deliver those water based paints into fine mist.

got no experience yet.

brush is time consuming but i am used to it.

so i would like to hear from those with real experience with these materials and perhaps get some practical personal tips.

salamat

Re: all about Air Compressors

Do those types of acrylic paints have the same consistency as that of latex?

Re: all about Air Compressors

I think latex will require bigger gun tips like a 2.2mm.

Compressors can have say a rated cfm at a given psi. What I found out is it is important that it can maintain that output. What's the use of 9 cfm if it only last a few minutes. That's why we need compressors with bigger tanks and bigger motors and bigger pumps. 🙂

Re: all about Air Compressors

does it mean HVLP is the way to go? bigger tanks will mean bigger space and they wont be handy.

the anest iwata has a paint tank and i wonder how much it can cost.

thanks

Try calling Machine Banks for Iwata Products. They also have Iwata Air Compressors.

Binondo - 242-0868
G. Araneta Ave - 711-3751

The 2.2mm Tip W-77 Conventional Spray Gun I posted cost around 10-12K. It is also available at Hans Shang.

I did not try anything on the units aside from taking pictures. I asked for the CFM but the guy in the shop doesnt know what CFM is. He is instead asking me to run it. Although im tempted to get and compute the CFM myself. I just refuse since i do not really intend to buy yet.
