Do you think it will work for higher torque applications like a compressor?

Just bolt ons as it's really not that powerful. However I will do a provision for placing the Vespa I have in series with it when I do the air line piping for the shop. This is my backup in case more air flow is needed.

Update : lee Valley's reply.

Thank you for your e-mail. We don’t sell any air compressors and we’re not certain of the specifications of the model you have. The Link Belt that we sell is ½” wide and is designed to take the place of a v-belt. If this is the same requirements as the belt normally used on your compressor, then this product should work just fine. We list compatible woodworking tool suggestions in our description, but these are used in all sorts of industries, such as paper mills, conveyor systems, ventilation fans, farm machinery, etc.

We hope that this information is helpful to you. Should you have any further inquiries please don’t hesitate to e-mail us again at [email protected].

Please post pics when you put your comps into a series..
Hmm what do you think, the belt can be used on a compressor? You might have to email the manufacturer of the belts directly.

Re: all about Air Compressors

I was thinking the Vespa can really make use of this type of V belt.

I'll put an insertion point after the pressure regulator for the Vespa. The Speedaire is 135 psi max while the Vespa is only 115 psi.

Pressure will be regulated at 90 psi for the air tools and the spray guns.

Full 135 psi for blow guns.

Re: all about Air Compressors

Will the cfm output increase when you link the two comps together?

Re: all about Air Compressors

Yes it will.

The Speedaire will kick in when pressure drops to 95 psi. If it drops further due to air usage I'll set the Vespa to kick in at say 80 - 90 psi. I have not adjusted kick in pressure for the Vespa yet so will have to see how to do it and if it's possible.

Re: all about Air Compressors

This are 2 of my compressor

1/4 HP Vespa I set it to 60 PSI I use it for light painting projects.

1/2 HP Daichi I set it to 90 PSI

I'm still saving to buy a 2HP air compressor.. Kinda need more power for air tools...

Re: all about Air Compressors

My current dual compressor setup. When fully operational, it will have a combined total of 4 HP , 83 gallons capacity and at least 14 cfm @ 90 psi. Enough to drive the Finex and Iwata spray guns.

Now I need a good but simple shop piping layout , pressure regulation and filtering setup w/ easy drain.

Any suggestions please.

Thanks

Re: all about Air Compressors

3 hours in Binondo and I got these fittings. Let's see what happens ... this is for the first leg of my shop piping runs.

It gets expensive when you start to add the cost of all bits and pieces. Acme Quick disconnects, stainless pipes, stainless or brass fittings, Kitz gate valves etc... Since there will be no long runs I'm sticking to 3/8" piping. Included is a mod for the compressor water drain too.

I decided for two major separate drop points. One for the air tools and one for spray painting. Those shown are for the air tools as I have not yet made up my mind how to setup the spray painting layout thus have not acquired the hardwares needed.

For the air tools I thought it would be best to take off the auto oiler out of the equation. These oilers are good for production run air tools but not so much for DIY. It will just gunk up the hoses from oil mist. I prefer to manually lube the air tools by dropping a few squirt of oil at the air intake before using these.
