Hello mga Brader..please help me how to FIX my broken drain valve ....I bought a new compressor....a while now...naka standby siya na full tank ...I used this for inflatables and for motorcycle tires..just last sunday I tried using it to paint some projects I have....kaso lang it spits a lot of water...so I decide to drain it...I can't really remember that I turn the Drain valve to tighten direction or loosen it , just it broke suddenly ...para naputol just on its neck so the rest of the valve part was buried inside / along the compressor tank...

so now I need your help guys

1.) how can I remove the broken part of the valve from the tank...

I plan not to replace it...but to modify it like what Sir JayL did to his...put elbow and a ball valve nalang for the ease of draining....

Sorry bro bakman but I don't have yet a big compressor and haven't experience this with my smaller one. I suppose it is JayL who could give you some tips on how to modify your drain valve problem.

Lets hope he reads this.

Try using a screw extractor. I got a set from Panda Constructions Supply along Araneta Ave.

What's the inner diameter of part you want to remove? I'll check if the biggest one in the set can grip the sides.

@ Sir joey81

Luckily my father in law remove the broken valve piece by piece....so the hole was cleared now...I did measure the opening its 1/2 inch / 13mm diameter.

if I replace this with elbow ....I will buy the 1/2 elbow right?

Good for you for your father in-laws' help. Now buy a stainless steel elbow, one with the thread outside and the other end with the thread inside. Also don't forget to buy the threaded plug.
